What is Tropical Cloud Desktop? The Tropical Cloud Desktop is a product that allows business to work from any or multiple locations and from any device. It allows business to save costs on infrastructure; and ensure data, applications & systems are protected and online 99.9% of the time all while keeping the exact same experience for all users. Essentially we combine desktop computers and servers into a single product which we host in our data centers allowing us to provide your company with better reliability and redundancy than in-house IT can generally achieve especially where you may have multiple offices. It is a great tool to allow staff to bring their own device aka BYOD (such as their laptops or tablets), or for business to purchase cheap thin clients or dumb terminals that only connect to cloud desktop and require little to no maintenance thus are significantly cheaper when compared to full-fledged computers. It also allows us to react to your needs faster and with more agility allocating more storage, processing power or users and applications can happen overnight with little stress; and we can scale back just as fast keeping your solution always best fit to your business and with reflective pricing. Information you are going to need There are three things you are going to need to know about your companies Tropical Cloud Desktop to be able to access it. The Cloud Desktop Name is individual to your company, and is usually a shortened name of your company (i.e. ace.tropicalcloud.com.au). Your personal username, usually your first name and last name (i.e. TROPICALCLOUD\firstname.lastname); and your password. Tropical Cloud Desktop Name (Computer Name): Your Tropical Cloud Username: TROPICALCLOUD\ Your Tropical Cloud Password. If you don t have the above information please call Tropical Business Solutions on 08 8922 0000 or email help@tropicalbusiness.com.au and we can assist. How to connect to the Tropical Cloud Desktop Often, after Tropical Business Solutions has deployed the Tropical Cloud Desktop to an organization, users are given a file that they double click. This file has all your settings pre-populated on it, and all you need to do is type in your password. This file works with all Microsoft Windows computers. However, one of the great things about the Tropical Cloud Desktop is that you can access it from ANY device. This document aims to show you HOW to access the Cloud Desktop from any main stream device. Windows Devices When you use Microsoft Windows Computers, you can manually connect to the cloud desktop even if you don t have the file that Tropical Business Solutions had given you with all the settings pre-configured for you. All Microsoft Windows Professional grade OS computers have remote desktop connection application pre-installed on the computer for you. If you don t have a professional grade computer you can download third party remote desktop tools from here: http://www.freerdp.com/ Page 3 of 8
