Course Description: This is a one-year, 20 unit, entry-level course. Classes meet daily at the MVROP Center for 2 hours per day. Study includes; Adobe Photoshop is used for basic design concepts, and layout techniques, as well as the creation of original artwork, photo manipulation, texture maps & image compositing. Adobe After Effects is used in conjunction with Photoshop and other bit-mapped graphics applications and introduces students to animation techniques and processes. Adobe Illustrator (a drawing application) study includes the creation of original posters, magazine and CD covers. Adobe Flash is explored for basic animation techniques and to create web capable portfolios for online purposes. All students are required to prepare working portfolio s to showcase their year s work. Throughout the year, team activities are planned and work ethics (as well as critical thinking) are discussed, demonstrated, encouraged, and rewarded. 1
