The Lowcountry Broadband Plan The Lowcountry Broadband Plan is a framework to provide Gigabit services to residents, businesses and public areas in the Lowcountry. Peak internet speeds are growing at an annual rate of 26% in all 50 states Analysts expect 18 devices per home by 2018 requiring bandwidth from a high speed internet connection The average Hargray customer internet speed grew 44% in 1 year from 12.5 Mbps to 18.1 Mbps The plan has received public support from local government and business leaders including: Beaufort County, Town of Hilton Head Island, Town of Bluffton, Hilton Head Island Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, Hilton Head Island Economic Development Corporation, and Hilton Head Island Task Force 3
