As such we are uniquely placed to understand the requirements of the Public Sector market and to recommend the most appropriate methods and tools. The UniVirtua Majic Application Platform (Majic) is a client/server application delivery and management platform, designed and built to securely deliver rich applications to networked devices such as smartphones and tablets. Simply put, Majic technology enables fully functional applications to run on virtually any mobile device, delivering rich functionality in a highly secure manner. Majic s hybrid nature dynamically discovers and streams to the user only the fundamental modules of an application that are required at a given moment in time. 1. Introduction Atos and UniVirtua have developed a rapid mobile application development service to quickly and easily test out the benefits of accessing existing systems through mobile devices. Made available as a private or Atos hosted cloud service, it is designed to help those looking to move to a mobile platform without having to engage in device and operating system selection and to validate the value of mobile technologies. 1.1 Service summary An Atos-packaged mobile application Proof of Concept service, designed to deliver rapid mobilisation of both legacy and next generation applications in a safe and secure manner. The service is based on the UniVirtua Majic Server product and is delivered by Atos mobile development and application integration experts. The service includes: Atos project oversight taking advantage of Agile scrum development methodologies for rapid results Development of a secure mobile application to customer requirements from a single source system. Up to three months system trial for up to 100 users allowing end users to test and refine the requirements for production. Assessment of costs to deliver the production environment creating a qualified cost model for adoption of the solution in the production environment by number of users. Application support for duration of Pilot Helpdesk support from Atos and UniVirtua during the course of the pilot 1.2 How this product can be used The Atos Rapid Pilot Mobile Application Development service allows customers, thinking of enabling mobile access to business systems, to quickly build and test mobile opportunities without major infrastructure costs. For example: Rapidly develop and test first step applications for mobile devices Securely allow mobile device access to legacy applications without having to redevelop the whole system Provide mobile access to remote workers in areas with reduced network coverage and low latency connections Submit timesheets whilst working remotely or travelling Access stock records whilst processing orders in a customer s office Process and confirm customer orders whilst on the customer s premises Provide citizens with access to employment, health, tax and other personal information in a secure environment. 1

2. Service overview 2.1 A fixed price eight week agile development process Atos will work with the client to deliver a mobile application that delivers an agreed set of capability against a single source application, for a fixed price. Using the UniVirtua Majic Mobile Development Platform, Atos will create a secure mobile application that helps unlock the opportunities that mobile services can provide. The project will include assessment of the costs to deliver a suite of enterprise wide tailored applications following on from the pilot. 2.2 Atos Project Management Oversight Using Agile, scrum based development techniques, the project will be run in a series of development sprints, under the management of Atos staff. Working closely with the customer, the design requirements and testing process will be rapidly reiterated to create a fully working application to agreed criteria. 2

3. Information assurance This product is currently available at Impact Level 0 (IL0). The service can be run at higher Impact Levels including IL2 and IL3. Atos has considerable experience of providing services at different levels of assurance. Atos currently has a number of products on G-Cloud that have received Pan Government Accreditation (PGA). Details can be found on the Cabinet Office website at: http://gcloud.civilservice.gov.uk/customerzone/accreditation-status/ 3

4. Backup/restore and disaster recovery Normal backup/restore and disaster recovery arrangements are in place on Atosowned infrastructure. Where client-owned infrastructure is used, Atos usually rely on the client s own arrangements but can quote for special arrangements. 4

5. On-boarding and off-boarding 5.1 On-boarding During the initiation phase, Atos would seek to arrange a workshop to ensure that both parties are clear on the scope of the engagement. Atos also seek to establish a collaboration portal on Atos (or a customer s) network so that Atos may exchange information and track progress throughout the engagement. In order to support the pilot, Atos can provide additional services such as Mobile Device Management (MDM as a Service - MDMaaS) for integration into a customer s existing infrastructure. 5.2 Off-boarding At the completion phase, Atos would normally seek to arrange a workshop to transition Atos learning and a final report to the customer s team. This will include transitioning all of the work products from the Atos collaboration portal to clearly explain how the project deliverables. Any models and data that Atos have used will be transitioned to the customer. Atos can provide training in the tools and techniques staff will need, if required. Should a customer decide to de-commission the Pilot Mobile Development Service, the process can be carried out gradually if needed to ensure a smooth transition. 5.3 Time for provisioning/de-provisioning Due to the rapid development and deployment methods used in the Pilot Mobile Development process, it is not envisaged that there will be additional on boarding time outside of the eight weeks, unless through the provisioning of additional services. De-provisioning should be achieved quickly through the disconnection of the mobile service server, whilst applications can be removed from devices individually in minutes. 5

6. Pricing As stated, the service is delivered for a fixed price and an agreed outcome. The Rapid Pilot Mobile Development Service will be charged at a fixed cost of 58k and covers the development of a mobile pilot application (taking up to eight weeks) along with an additional four weeks for testing by a maximum of 100 users. A total project time of twelve weeks. It is assumed that the UniVirtua product will be hosted on the customer s environment Atos can also host the development and test environment on our Canopy (public) or secure cloud services at additional cost. The Atos hosting and execution costs depend on the environments in use and customer requirements, falling between the following ranges: Development Environment Runtime Environment 1500-2000 per month 1300-1700 per month If Atos host the pilot project users should assume a range of 4500-6000 for development hosting and 3900-5100 for runtime testing. As described above this cost includes support for up to 100 users during the course of the POC 6

7. Service management The Atos Rapid Pilot Mobile Application Development service operates under an Agile project management process. This means that for the duration of the project all service and support comes from the development team. After the eight week development project is completed, the service includes a further four week usage agreement (for a maximum of 100 users) to test and evaluate the solution. Service support will provide: A technical support helpdesk five days per week (Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays) from 09:00 to 17:00. Support requests outside of these hours may be submitted via email. User Helpdesk enquiries are to have an acknowledgement within 2 hours. User Helpdesk enquiries are to have an initial response within 2 working days. User Helpdesk enquiries are to be fully resolved within 5 working days permitting closure. 7

8. Service constraints Please see the sections on Technical Requirements & Consumer Responsibilities, below. Are the full constraints covered in the Tech Requirements? Do you need to highlight hosting and licensing requirements here? 8

9. Service levels Atos provides suitably trained individuals to complete the tasks necessary for this service. They can work at the client site or remotely, depending on the need for access to: Client staff Client applications & network. Atos standard working hours / days are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, excluding public & regional holidays. 9

11. Training Where required, Atos, alongside UniVirtua, can include tasks to train-up client staff in the tools and techniques associated with mobile application development. This would be an extension of the service described and at additional cost. The development of training and training materials for the use of the digital service is a key element of Atos service development lifecycle. In the event that the customer decides to proceed to the production process, these services can be purchased at additional cost. 11.1 Training Services Atos Training Services are designed with Atos customers business goals in mind. Atos work closely with Atos customers from the outset of a training requirement to understand the reasons for the training and the expected business benefits. Understanding the organisation, strategies, objectives and goals is critical to the overall success of the training solution. This enables us to design and implement focused learning solutions that take into account the culture, business environment and the impact of the changes. Atos also believe that a well-designed and intuitive solution requires less training: saving both time and money. Effective training is an integral part of the overall solution and without it the anticipated return on investment is unlikely to be realised. Atos approach ensures Atos solution builds awareness, knowledge and understanding. This improves ownership and commitment, increasing the user s confidence in and enthusiasm for the new working practices. Atos solutions have to be fit for purpose, and Atos adopt an innovative and flexible approach to deliver training programmes to address a customer s requirements. Typically the Training Service may cover the following training activities: Training Needs Analysis Design and Development of training material including on-line training materials such as e-learning programmes Training Delivery Training Support Services such as floor walking, and one-to-one training Training Administration Training Communication Programmes Training Management Evaluation of training. 11

Once received, the customer services will be configured to the requirements as per the original quotation. For new customers, additional new supplier forms may need to be completed.
