opti-s SERIES Data logging - simply smart The optimeas smartlog Family
The optimeas smartlog Family Modern measuring instruments and data logging systems have an increasing number of setting parameter and get more and more complex when it comes to usage. optimeas opposes this trend and focuses on a different approach with its in-house developed smart series. optimeas devices are easy to use, specifically adapted to the task as well as efficient. Strictly following the philosophy: Always focusing on the best solution and benefit! optimeas smartlog systems are measuring instruments, designed and suitable for independent data recording, storing and evaluation. They consist of a base unit, which can be adjusted to the application by various hardware and software functions. Expansions such as a direct mobile radio connectivity, battery (rechargeable) operation, multiple CAN interfaces or specific software packages for road trials are available. The desired device can be easily composed because of its modular system. The base unit itself is a fully functional data logger. It is equipped with a CAN interface, control inputs and alarm outputs. Technical data of the base unit Processor RAM Flash intern SD/µSD Temperature range Power supply Interfaces Internal inputs and outputs System I/O expandable by additional high resolution i/o * ARM Core Processor i.mx537, 800MHz, (alternatively i.q6, 1GHz quad core) 512MB DDR3 SDRAM 128MB NAND Flash, RTC DS 1339 Real Time Clock 1xSD and 1xµSD up to 64 GByte -30 C to +70 C ambient temperature 10-30 VDC, external power supply 1xUSB 2.0 Full-Speed 1xCAN: ISO11898 conformal, insulated 2 x ADC channels, PT100 / NTC, 12 bit, 10 Hz, thereof 1x external, 1x internal (system temperature) 2 x ADC channels, 0-20 V, 12 bit, 10 Hz, thereof 1x external, 1x internal (DC power supply connection) 4x digital input (HTL, 24V, Common-Ground) 4x digital output (HTL, 24V, Common-Ground, 100mA) Housing Aluminum Housing: IP 54 Special housings possible upon consultation Network 1 x Ethernet RJ45 1 GBit * ref. additional components
Internet, local network or autarchic - optimeas smartlogger work everywhere Just power up and off you go... As soon as the smartlogger is powered up, it will start independently based on the installed software. Data is recorded from all available interfaces. Depending on the settings, data can be automatically processed and stored on the internal SD memory card. According to the device configuration it is possible to monitor measured values or initiate alarm messages. In the local network If the device is connected to a local network, data is also transmitted online. Measured data can then be processed with a computer and configurations can be modified. A standardized SCPI log based on IEEE 488.2 is used for communication. This means easy integration in existing equipment without further software installation. But also via the internet Even if the device is connected directly to the internet - no problem, even this case has been taken care of. Internet connection can be set up either via the optional LTE modem or via a router. The device connects in both cases independently to the central server. Communication is done via the mailbox principle. This procedure is well known from services like Skype or TeamViewer. A compact TCP log file with status and control information is periodically exchanged with the server. If required, the server can send commands to the device or retrieve data from the device. A WEB service based on the server service allows interactive handling. This concept allows the smartlog device to safe energy and does not require additional log files such as VPN. Customizable by a flexible software concept The platform concept of optimeas smart devices not only includes hardware but also the device software. The implemented software is optimeas-ocean. optimeas-ocean is a scalable and expandable software that can be used for almost all tasks in the field of logging, measurement, control, regulation and automation. The combination of individual software modules makes it adaptable to each task. Missing modules can be easily added. This allows customer-specific solutions such as special calculations, monitoring or log files as an extension.
Application possibilities Medicine Also medicine needs to be learnt. That s why the university of Bern is looking for a neurophysiological measuring instrument which is modern, wireless and measuring quickly. The optimeas smartmedilog is a neurophysiological measuring instrument, which can be used for medical studies and teaching. The device is portable, battery powered and intelligent. A particular highlight is the wireless live transmission of measured values to a medical data cloud. Furthermore, the measurement speed is considerably higher than of comparable standard devices; not only neurophysiological signals but also any other measurands such as temperature, humidity of breathing air or blood pressure can be measured. This provides a better understanding for medical students of neurological processes. Research gains new possibilities concerning diagnostics due to mobility and flexibility. Manifold areas of application are conceivable also for the clinical setting. More information at: www.optimeas.de/medizin Geology Temblor, mining, tunneling are only some sources of vibrations, which can endanger people and buildings. Especially in the area of structural monitoring, stability monitoring and monitoring of emission control in the building and rail and transport sector, mobile measuring instruments are required to monitor and evaluate vibrations and check if limits are exceeded. The optimeassmartgeolog is ideally adjusted to this task. It is equipped with 4 connections for, e.g. a triaxial vibration sensor and an additional measurand, connected to the internet via an integrated LTE modem and uses only little power. Systems with various locations can be synchronized accurately to µs via GPS. All required evaluations and analyses are done automatically by the device software. Application possibilities Automotive engineering Hidden malfunctions sometimes occur in control units or vehicle components after the vehicles have been delivered. Malfunctions that are not detected during quality assurance and type checks are not easy to locate. A diagnostics systems is required that can isolate and evaluate certain events but also provides a huge memory depth for a continuous data collection over several weeks. Only this system provides the possibility to recognize vehicle malfunctions also during daily operation and to eliminate such in the end. Universal because of combinable components In order to fit the smartlog to the application it can be configured and extended by various components. Internet connection, time synchronization or positioning are just a few examples. To record slowly changeable system parameter (temperature, supply voltage) 4 analog channels with low resolution are available. 2 channels each are reserved for temperature (PT100, NTC) and for the recording of status signals with 10 Hz sampling rate at a 12Bit resolution, one channel each is already connected for the measurement of device temperature and supply voltage (input). All smartlog devices are equipped with a SD or µsd slot to store data. 64 GByte provides enough space for data logging. For configuration without a computer just insert the SD card with a configuration file in the device. The devices then parameterize independently and start recording. For wireless use with a local network it is possible to equip the smartlog devices with an internal or external WLAN stick. This stick supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n with maximum 300 Mbps in dual band operation. The optional modem provides direct internet connection to the smartlog device. By default the communication is based on the mailbox system via a predefined server. This allows downloading data from devices and modifying the configuration. It is also possible to update the operating software. If the smartlog devices are set up in various places but need to work synchronically in a device compound, the GPS synchronization can be used. This synchronizes the measured values of each device to an accuracy of 1 µs. In addition the position data of the device is available as a measuring channel. The basic version of the smartlog devices are equipped with a CAN interface. As an option they can be extended with 3 further CAN interfaces. The installed operating software determines the mode of data acquisition. This provides modules for the entire interpretation of CAN messages based on a.dbc file or for writing vector ASC logging files.
smartlog devices with an additional component can also record analog inputs. Modules with 8 inputs, ±10 V, 24 Bit, 2 khz per channel or 4 inputs ±10 V, 24 Bit, 5 khz scanning rate per channel are available. Further modules upon request. Combinations with analog outputs ±10V, 16 Bit are possible in order to be able to provide data to other measuring instruments. Data recorded on a CAN Bus can also be retrieved. In some cases tit is necessary to set alarm and control outputs. The smartlog devices provide by default 4 digital inputs (24 V) and 4 digital outputs (24 V, 100 ma). Power failures need to be bridged especially during the mobile use. Therefore smartlog devices can be optionally equipped with a rechargeable battery. Depending on the battery capacity, devices can be operated independently for several hours. APPsolut clever The function of the Logger is mainly determined by the operating software. In order to increase the application area of the smartlog devices, optimeas develops and modifies the software in close cooperation with its customers. Apps are created - similar to a smartphone - which can be easily reloaded. This concept adjusts the software closely to a certain application: efficient and especially robust devices are developed.
