Levels of Leadership Level 1 Position People have to follow based on title Boss Drives workers Depends on authority Inspires fear Says I Places blame for the breakdown No influence beyond your job description Leader Coaches workers Depends on goodwill Inspires enthusiasm Says WE Fixes the breakdown

Level 2 Permission/Relationship People follow beyond your title because they want to Characteristics: Genuine caring for people Help others be successful Caring about people more than procedures See through the eyes of others Results: work is fun, but don t stay here too long!
