ACADEMIC SERVICE ACTIVITIES: University Service Coordinator, Cross-Institutional MPA-DPA Degree Track, 2010-2011. Initiated collaborative assessment of an MPA-DPA degree track with Valdosta State University. This pioneering arrangement, unique among Georgia Board of Regents institutions, the first to link degree programs between universities. The program is designed to streamline progression from the MPA through the Doctorate of Public Administration degrees for highly-qualified students. University principle representative, M.P.A. program reaccreditation, 2007-2010. Led faculty through successful program reaccredidation by the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. This effort included leading a comprehensive program review, establishing an external review board (MPA Advisory Council); securing approval for a permanent faculty teaching load reduction to the lowest 6
in the College of Arts & Sciences (3-3); developing objective student learning outcomes measurement tool; designing and evaluating student, alumni and employer opinion surveys; evaluating curriculum; assessing faculty performance over a seven-year period; writing self-study report and responses to COPRA Interim Reports; arranging site team visit; providing follow-up information for final COPRA decision letter.
