Website: http://www.sobitemplates.com Support: http://www.sobitemplates.com/forum ST Resorts Template for SobiPro Installation & Setup Guide Overview: The ST Resorts Template for SobiPro has a lot of features built in for Hotel Booking sites, Retreat Directories, Travel sites and many more applications. The setup is minimal if you plan to use the fields that are already pre-styled with the template. The 1 click installation process does 99% of the setup work for you. Requirements: The latest version of SobiPro must be installed in Joomla 1.5 or Joomla 1.7 and ready to use. SobiPro Apps needed are the SobiPro GeoMap Field App and the Reviews and Ratings App. You can find these SobiPro Applications, along with Installation and Documentation at the SobiPro Club website. ST Resorts Template Installation Sobi Templates are designed to allow you to quickly and easily install your new template through the SobiPro Applications Manager. 1. Log-in to your Joomla Website Administration Panel. 2. Choose the SobiPro menu up top and Select Application Manager from the drop-down list. 3. In the center of the screen you will see the Install New Application box, followed by a Browse and Upload File and Install button. 2
4. Click the Browse button and find the Sobi Templates zip package you downloaded from our website. Click the file to select it and press Open. 3
5. Once your template has uploaded successfully, you should see a blue information bar near the top of the screen that says Template ST Resorts has been installed. Congratulations! You have just successfully installed Your SobiPro ST Resorts template. You should see a new Section listed on the SobiPro Control Panel with the same name as the template, with all the custom fields used in this template already created for you, and 4 new Categories as well. There s really not much setup to this, other than a few quick adjustments you will need to make in the Fields Manager and System Settings. We can do those now. 4
GeoMap Field Settings Next we need to check the field settings, and we will need to navigate to the new ST Resorts section you just created automatically when you installed the template. From the top of your Joomla Admin screen, you should see a new Section in the SobiPro menu named ST Resorts, or from the SobiPro Control Panel, you will see the new section listed on the left. Click it. 5
Now we need to navigate to the Fields Manager. Click the Section Configuration menu on the left, then click the Fields Manager link. Now find the Google Map Field and click it. 6
The installation file for ST Resorts does not set the Views and Options in the Geo-Map field by default. Available Views: To select the Road Map and Satellite view, hold down the CTRL key and each one. Map Options: The Zoom Control and Map Type Control are what we use in the Demo site. Address Fields: By default, the field_street, field_city, field_state and field_country are entered. I have switched to field_zip for US addresses. Either one should work depending on where you are in the world. Be sure to click the Save icon when you are done. Full GeoMap Docs at SobiPro Club website. 7
Review and Rating App Setup Inside the ST Resorts Section, click the Section Applications menu on the left and click the Applications link. Now change the state of the Review and Rating App by clicking the red X to enable it. You should now see a green checkmark. You can view the full documentation on the SobiPro Club website for more information on the full configuration and administration of the Review and Rating App. 8
Alpha Menu Setup The Alpha menu may not turn on by default, so you will need to go in and adjust the settings. Start by opening your ST Resorts Section in SobiPro and clicking the Section Configuration menu on the left. Now click General Configuration and select the Template Data tab. Down at the bottom of the screen you will see the Alpha-Listing Settings. Here you can set the Show Alpha- Listing Menu to Yes. Next you can add Alpha-Listing Letters. You can add letters or numbers separated by a comma. See our screenshot below as an example. When you finish, click the Save icon in the top right corner of the page. You can view the full documentation on the Alpha-Listing Menu on the SobiPro Club website. 9
Social Media Sharing Icons The ST Resorts template uses the ITP Share module for the details view social media icons. It s a standard Joomla Module, but I use it on Sobi Templates and also the Demo site, so I know it works in Joomla 1.5 and 1.7. You can download it and install it like a regular Joomla Module from the ITPrism website at http://itprism.com/free-joomla-extensions/socialmedia-share-plugin. The v1.7-1.6 version works in Joomla 1.7 just fine. The v1.7-j1.5 version is for Joomla 1.5. Once installed, navigate to the Module manager, select the ITP Share module, and type the word social for the module position, publish it and click save. You can choose which social media sharing icons you want to use from there as well. When you first look at the template in details view, it may show a line of code that says {loadposition social} in it. That just means we need to set the Parse Template Output to Yes. Navigate to your ST Resorts section in SobiPro and select the Section Configuration menu on the left. Click General Configuration and then the Template Data tab over toward the right. You will see on the 3 rd line down the words Parse Template Output. Select Yes and click the Save icon on the top right. 10
System Settings One suggestion I want to make is, Disable the following cache while you are working on your directory. This will make it possible to adjust the CSS files with a tool like Firebug or Chrome Developer Tools. You can turn them all 3 back on when you are done tweaking the template. SobiPro Data Accelerator JavaScript and CSS Files Cache JavaScript Files Compression 11
SobiPro ACL Settings The SobiPro ACL Settings should automatically be set for visitors and registered users to view and add entries in the ST Resorts section when you install the template. But if you plan to allow site visitors to add Reviews to the Ratings and Review App, you need to adjust the SobiPro Access Control List settings. From the main SobiPro Control Panel, click the Access Control List from the SobiPro menu bar near the top. Click the ST Resorts Rule name and under the Frontend Permissions list, scroll down to the review section. Now hold down the CTRL key and select Add Own and See Valid to let users add reviews and see them on the front end. Now click the Save icon up top. 12
