The goals of EUCIP To define an industry-driven standard for Informatics Professionals. To meet the demands of the increasing requirement for ICT professionals across Europe. EUCIP Products EUCIP covers a broad range of ICT knowledge central to all ICT practitioners. EUCIP offers a solid grounding in the key areas of ICT and acts as an ideal qualification for a range of ICT jobs across all sectors. EUCIP provides a framework for demonstrating academic achievement and professional experience related to job profile. The EUCIP Profile certifications covers three main areas: Plan The Use and Management of Information Systems Build Acquisition, development and implementation of IS Operate Operations and Support of Information Systems

EUCIP Progression Options

The benefits of EUCIP ICT Vendor Independent. European Qualification sponsored and guaranteed by ECDL Foundation and CEPIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies). EUCIP Core The Core level provides students with a solid foundation for all types of IT related work. It gives a broad knowledge of the fundamental aspects of IT. EUCIP Core is divided into three Knowledge Areas: Plan The Use and Management of Information Systems Build Acquisition, development and implementation of IS Operate Operations and Support of Information Systems Typically 300-400 study hours are required to complete the Core Certification. The candidate is assessed in a one hour exam on each Knowledge Area and must achieve 60% in all 3 examinations. Approximately 6000 candidates to date

EUCIP Professional EUCIP Professional allows Candidates to specialise in a particular role through further certification. The main goal of the EUCIP Professional level is to provide Candidates with: A choice of different EUCIP job profiles within ICT for Certification ( EUCIP Elective Profiles ). A choice of accredited learning elements ( EUCIP Elective Modules ). A professional qualification that recognises that the Candidate can act effectively and consistently in their role. An approach that allows progression to a recognised EUCIP Professional certification.

EUCIP Professional Certification Model: Candidate chooses one of the 21 EUCIP Professional Profiles to pursue Candidate defines a personal Portfolio to document competences acquired through university, professional courses and/or work experience. The evaluation method is based on a credit system which assigns varying amounts of points to the diverse elements (courses, certifications, etc.) composing an individual s portfolio. Among professional courses recognised by EUCIP, special attention is given to courses which allow Candidates to achieve certifications from IT vendors, such as Microsoft, Oracle, SUN, Cisco, IBM, SAP, etc. Following evaluation of a Candidate s portfolio, the examining board summons the Candidate for a final discussion.

EUCIP IT Administrator IT Administrator certifies practical and theoretical knowledge of computer technicians/specialists. The programme is aimed at: Small to medium-sized companies/educational Institutes that require inhouse expertise in IT. Individuals who wish to broaden IT knowledge and be able to administer systems and networks. The Syllabus consists of the following five modules: PC Hardware, Operating Systems, Local Area Network & Network Services, Expert Network Use, Security CISCO IT Essentials 1 maps to first three modules.

EUCIP IT Administrator Testing: The tests are conducted using multiple choice theory questions. Modules 2 5 also include practical exercises to be conducted on a live system. The pass mark in Module 1 is 60% and in Modules 2 5 the pass mark is 70%. The Candidate has 90 minutes to complete the Module 1 exam. In Modules 2 5 the Candidate has 60 minutes to complete the theoretical questions and 60 minutes to complete the practical exercises.
