ALES Safety There were two external audits in ALES this quarter. The first was done by the AJES Corporate HSE Manager, Mr Peter Jolly. The second was by the newly appointed waste consultants RSK. The audit by Mr. Peter Jolly found that ALES Musaffah workshops generally conform to the physical requirements but we require more HSE training at all levels and that the management system needs upgrading. 5 ALES safety officers attended an HSE staff development program presented by AJES to enhance their skills. The second audit by RSK was to quantify the types and amounts of waste produced by ALES. As a result of this audit all workplaces are now required to weigh all recyclable scrap and waste before they are removed. The reason for this is that the Second Phase of Tariff System Implementation requires ALES to reduce its waste by 20%. In line with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi strategy 2030 towards sustainable Abu Dhabi and to encourage waste reduction and minimization at source by encouraging waste reduction, reuse and recycling, minimizing the amount of waste to be disposed at landfills which in turn reduce the adverse effect of the increase demand on natural resources, and create investment opportunities in the green industries to support the national economy and help raising the level of environmental services provided to the community. The Centre of Waste Management through Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi accredited consultants must submit a report on waste management for all large establishments. The consultant s report shows if ALES is compliant with the CWM requirements and proper waste handling. The report will indicate if ALES performance on implementing a proper waste management system is satisfactory. EMV Display As part of our internal decoration of ALES Main Office, display of EMV project prototype was designed by ERP Support and executed with the support of Logistics team. The EMV display shows the project prototype of earth works and crusher prototypes displaying the quarry works. We would like to thank ERP Support and Logistics for their efforts and valuable inputs.
