Walgreens Android App Redesign My most ambitious project to date. I directed, designed, and managed a complete redesign and restructuring of the Android app. We took an outdated and inconsistent experience and updated it to the latest Google s design standards (Material Design) and established a modular system to efficiently design, build, and maintain a consistent experience. I was lead user experience designer, which included managing and directing the other design resources. I also organized and planned the project objectives, deliverables, and timeline. Walgreens Android App Redesign Cont d Android Pattern and Module Library Established a comprehensive pattern library that produced detailed design guidelines and specifications for the Android app. As well as defining design patterns, a very detailed module library was created to provide a systematic and reusable UI structure that every designer could leverage. The modules were completely design and specified UI building blocks that established a plug-in-play design system. Before and After

Adaptive & Responsive Concept & Consulting I was part of a small team to determine design and development solutions for a mobile first responsive/adaptive website for Walgreens.com as well establish new processes that better supported an adaptive website. I continued to consult with the web team as the adaptive project was planned and executed. My consulting role was to provide design guidance for mobile, help shape design process to be more compatible with development, and mediate design and development conversations. Goals 1. Develop new design and development process for multiple break points 2. Explore new cross breakpoint design patterns 3. Experience enhancements through more intelligent development techniques (caching, service calls timing, separation frontend and backend) Tablet Quick View Concept
Fitness Tracker Concept The Fitness Tracker Concept was created for two purposes. The first was to show off a complete refresh of a rewards driven fitness program. The second was to show off how native device capabilities could be leveraged to provide a first class user experience. Key capability highlights were Motion Activity API, GPS, Bluetooth, gesture support, native controls, and push notifications. The design later inspired the design for Balance Rewards with Healthy Choices an all web experience, which I consulted on.
CSS Style Guide I wrote CSS that was used by the Walgreens.com Creative team to create their Live Style Guide. The CSS I wrote became the basis for what development used to code the updated styles on Walgreens.com
Track My CTA Track My CTA is a mobile application developed to improve the bus and train tracking tools for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The app allows the user to easily find and select a stop and view upcoming transit options for the selected location. Features include touch-friendly design, nearby stop finder, a favorite stop page, and search function. The app is available in the iphone App store.
Mobile Web Streamlined Checkout Concept Provided a concept that eventually inspired a redesigned Walgreens.com Checkout flow, including desktop. The updated experience increased checkout completion by XX%. The concept included an accordion checkout pattern before it was a common trend, which has been supported by research studies. Android Wear Concept I created a quick concept for when Android Wear was announced to show a potential use case.
