WHAT IS CARETTAPONTOON? A floating structure, which is formed by two or more tubes, connected with a platform.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND First pontoon boat was invented by an American farmer who lived in Richmond in 1952. He produced his first pontoon boat by using a wooden platform on the pontoons.
Many people were inspired from him and use pontoons in their own works.
Mr. Weeres, thought that this idea was marketable and produced a pontoon boat with his own opportunities. He named this pontoon; Empress. Suddenly, an unexpected demand began for pontoon boats and this became first step to establish an industry for pontoon boats, in USA. However, actually, the first pontoon was used in the 1 st World War by Turkish Army, in Çanakkale, according to some historical researches. For that reason, we are proud of manufacturing Pontoon boats in TURKEY.
