How to Log In Double click on the Kea! CaMIS icon At the username field type in your user name At the password field type in your password The CaMIS View only menu will appear How To Navigate In CaMIS Example of a CaMIS Menu As shown in the example above, menus will enable you to select where you need to go in the CaMIS Outpatient system. To select an option, move the Left and Right Arrow keys on your keyboard to move to the option you need. As you move, you will see the description on the second line of the menu change to the currently selected option. Once you have highlighted the option you need, press the Return key to select. You can also directly go to an option by typing in the number next to it. To exit from a menu, highlight the Exit option and press Return. You can also press E or F4 to directly go to this option. Function Keys are laid out at the top of your keyboard and will enable you to navigate though the outpatient system. The actions performed by function keys depend on which form and field you are in, and are clearly labelled at the bottom of the form: The F4 key is always the key to press to quit a form. View Appointments Press number 4 Appointments The PMI search screen will appear: This is the Patient Search Details screen. The Tab key is used to move forward through the fields of the screen. To go backwards you must Press Shift and Tab together. You will see the description of the field you are currently in at the bottom of the form, which changes as you move around the form. The Escape key is used to clear information within the fields. You may get a warning on pressing this key, checking that you want to clear out the field. F3 is used for searching for codes or for accessing the diary browser. You may directly enter the code or date you want if you know it. How To Search To carry out a strict surname search: Enter the initial for your patient then press the Tab key to move to the next field Type in the patient s surname. Tab to the Sex field and type in the patient s sex Press F1 End N.B. You can carry out a Date Of Birth search by pressing the Tab key until you reach the date of birth field, type in the patient s dob and then record the patient s sex. The Patient Master Index form is displayed showing a list of patients that match the criteria entered. The patient s hospital number, date of birth, sex and address are also displayed. The first patient on the list is highlighted. To select a different patient, you must press the down arrow. Note the options at the bottom of the screen Ensure the patient you wish to select is highlighted Press the F1 key to select your patient You will now see the appointments filter. You can change the filter options to Y/N according to the criteria you require. To accept the default filter: Press F1 End and the View Patient Appointments form is displayed, showing all the appointments for the patient, depending on the filter criteria selected. On the right hand side of the screen, you can view information relating to the patient s appointment including attendance and cancellation details etc. This screen may provide all the information you require but you can view more information such as referral or correspondence details if required by using the appointment action function as described below. Note the options at the bottom of the screen. Press the F5 key for Action and a sub menu will appear You can now choose any of the actions listed to view further information relating to the patient s appointment if required. Diary This facility enables you to view a clinic. Press 5 to select Diary from the menu You will now need to type in the details of the clinic you wish to view. Once you have typed in the clinic details, you will need to record the specialty code. If you know the specialty code you can just type it in here but in this example, you will learn how to browse. Press F3 to browse Type in the first few letters of the specialty you are searching for e.g. NE (for Neuro) and press the enter key A list of codes will display which match the search criteria entered. Press the down arrow to select the appropriate specialty and once highlighted press the enter key The clinic session diary is now displayed The arrow keys can be used to move around the diary form and the information on the right hand side of the form displays the appointments booked and number of free appointment slots for that patient list on that date. Once you have highlighted the clinic date you wish to view: Presss F1 choose You can now see the names of patients booked into the clinic. Again by moving the up and down arrow key you can scroll through the clinic to view. Press F4 Quit Press F4 Quit to log out and close down your CaMIS session. N.B.
