Millions of people have had or are living with cancer. Here at Kaiser Permanente s East Bay Cancer Center, we want you to know that if you are one of those affected, you don t have to take this journey alone. Upon your initial diagnosis you will be referred to a cancer specialist and other providers or departments which may be new to you. We understand that navigating your way through the treatment process can be overwhelming, so we offer a variety of educational materials and support services to help you and your loved ones along the way. This booklet contains information about all of the cancer-related services, support groups, and classes we have available here. Having the information you need and working together with your medical team will help you live your life to the fullest before, during, and after treatment.

BREAST CARE CENTER We offer a full range of breast health services which includes exam, biopsy, and surgical treatment consultations. INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT Interventional Radiology provides a range of minimally invasive procedures for cancer patients. These include biopsies, placement of venous access devices such as ports for chemotherapy, radio frequency ablation of tumors in liver, kidney, lung, and bone, as well as chemoembolization of liver tumors. Kaiser Support Groups BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP This weekly group is intended for women who have a diagnosis of breast cancer. Members only; family and friends welcome. Kaiser Support Services HOSPICE Hospice provides comfort at home for patients facing the final stages of a terminal illness. Patients and their families are supported by the hospice team which includes physicians, nurses, social workers, nurse s aides, volunteers, spiritual care, and pharmacists. Kaiser Support Services NUTRITION & CANCER CLASSES A registered dietitian presents classes on proper nutrition before, during, and after cancer treatment.
