Brand Identity Guidelines

254c Guidelines The Identity Below, is the Forth Valley College master logo. Take a little time to familiarise yourself with the different elements that make up the identity. And then read on for more in-depth information on how to use it correctly. This is made up of 3 spot colours. Pantone: 254C Pantone: 22C Important When reproducing the identity you must not reset any of the elements or redraw the logo. To ensure quality, spacing and layout are consistent only use original first generation artwork. Do not use redrawn, photocopied or faxed artwork as small variations can become exaggerated and distorted, therefore destroying the identity. Full reproduction material is available from the Forth Valley College Marketing Team on 01324 40311. Black To enable the logo to be used on a wide range of applications there are 4 other versions available for use. But we must stress that the above versions must be used where possible. CMYK Spot 254C Mono Solid Black CMYK: This is to be used when you are unable to print spot colours. Spot 254C: When an item or document is to be printed 1 spot colour. Black: For mono use only, when an item or document is to be printed black. Solid Black: To be used on small items where a gradient cannot be reproduced. Such as screen techniques for printing on pens, etc. You can produce this in Pantone 254C (or equivalent) as well as black.

The Identity To strengthen the identity's impact, you should leave a reasonable space around it this helps give the identity a clean and clear feel. The identity should appear in full on all material. Colour specification Colour is a powerful tool in creating a distinctive and memorable corporate image. The colours of the master Forth Valley College identity are vibrant purple, dark purple and black as shown below. The alternative logos are all made up from these colours. Fonts External Fonts In order to build a clear consistent style for all brand communications one family of fonts has been chosen as the approved corporate typefaces. Basic elements Myriad Pro should be used for all external communications and Arial should be used for internal. Myriad Pro is the font. It should be used across all applications advertising, promotional material, stationery etc. Myriad Pro is a sans serif font. In some respects, it s a no-nonsense contemporary typeface: clear, legible and ideally designed to convey our brand values. Yet it s available in a wide enough range of weights from bold to light to allow for personal expression. Myriad Pro should be specified for all communications materials, such as advertising, promotional printwork and stationery. Remember to brief designers and typographers to use our font to convey our brand values. Myriad Pro Light Body copy and alternative sub header. Body copy should be an optimum 10 pt with leading of 14pt. Myriad Medium Header style and alternative sub header. Myriad Regular Header style and alternative sub header. Myriad Bold Header style, for greater emphasis.
