Before you begin the lab: Turn on SEA-DC-01 Log on to SEA-DC-01 as CONTOSO\Administrator with a password of Pa$$w0rd. Exercise 1: Creating Accounts Task 1: Add a User Account 1. The Server Manager starts automatically. 2. In the console tree, expand Roles Active Directory Domain Services Active Directory Users and Computers [SEA-DC-01.contoso.com] contoso.com, and then click Finance. 3. Right-click Finance, and then click New User. 4. In the First Name field, type Amy. 5. In the Last Name field, type Smith. 6. In the User logon name field, type asmith. 7. Click Next. 8. In the Password field, type Pa$$w0rd. 9. In the Confirm password field, type Pa$$w0rd. 10. Click Next. 11. Click Finish. Task 2: Add a Computer Account 1. In the console tree, right-click Computers, and then click New Computer. 2. In the Computer name field, type SEA-WRK-004. 3. Click OK.

In the console tree, right-click contoso.com, and then click Operations Masters. 2. Click the Infrastructure tab. 3. Note the Operations master for the domain. 4. Click Close.

Task 2: Associate a Subnet with a Site 1. In the console tree, right-click 192.169.16.0/20, and then click Properties. 2. In the console tree, expand Features Group Policy Management Forest: Contoso.com Domains Contoso.com. 2. Right-click Default Domain Policy, and then click Edit. 3. Expand Computer Configuration Policies Administrative Templates Windows Components. 4. Click AutoPlay Policies. 5. In the details pane, right-click Turn off Autoplay, and then click Properties. 6. In the Turn off Autoplay Properties dialog box, select Enabled. 7. In the Turn off Autoplay on drop-down box, click All drives. 8. Click OK. 9. Close the Group Policy Management Editor.

In the console tree, expand DNS Server DNS SEA-DC-01, and then click Forward Lookup Zones. 2. Right-click Forward Lookup Zones, and then click New Zone. 3. On the New Zone Wizard, click Next. 4. On the Zone Type page, ensure Primary zone is selected, and then click Next. 5. On the Active Directory Zone Replication Scope page, click Next. 6. On the Zone Name page, in the Zone name field, type new.contoso.com. 7. Click Next. 8. On the Dynamic Update page, click Next. 9. On the Completing the New Zone Wizard, click Finish. Lab Shutdown After you complete the lab, you must shut down all virtual machines and discard any changes.
