THE AUTISM PROGRAM Today, one in every 68 children is diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, making autism the fastest growing developmental disability in the United States. MILESTONES MATTER MAKE THE FIRST FIVE COUNT As a parent you want what s best for your child. Because children learn and grow at different rates, monitoring your child s development can be confusing...even for the most attentive parent. As a leading provider of child development services, we are here to be your partner in raising a healthy and happy child. FIVE AREAS THAT COUNT The first five years of development lay the foundation for a child s overall success. Monitor these five growth areas: Relationships: Build strong relationships with your kids to make them feel safe to develop trust, explore and learn. Exploring and Learning: Allow kids opportunities to explore and problem solve from an early age so they can begin to understand the world around them. www.ci.easterseals.com

Communication: Smile, talk, read and listen to your kids every chance you can to encourage language and reading development. Playing: Act silly, play and interact with your kids. These experiences help guide social, emotional, language, physical and intellectual maturity. Moving: Encourage kids to move - movements both big and small are important for physical growth. Easter Seals is a partner in your child s wellness, supporting their growth and happiness through life s earliest developmental milestones. We provide valuable child development services, including free access to a comprehensive and confidential online screening tool, to help guide all parents through these crucial years. Take the screening at makethefirstfivecount.org.
