The team researched, developed, wrote, and delivered professional development to address the language and literacy skills of students with more severe needs who are often served by speech-language pathologists, classroom teachers, and special educators in the public schools. 2000- present Developed a CD rom presentation of training strategies for teaching phonological awareness and emerging literacy to preschool children with communication disabilities. The presentation has been used to inservice school districts throughout Florida. Reviewed 10 Calls for Papers for the Council for Exceptional Children for annual 2000 convention. Served as reviewer for two manuscripts for the editors of LSSHS. Continuing Education 2009 Received an ACE Award from ASHA for obtaining over 70 hours of continuing education.
