OUR DEGREES Healthcare Informatics Certificate: designed to quickly build up competencies in the field of biomedical informatics useful for those seeking a career change or advancement requires only 18 credits Masters in Biomedical Informatics: wide range of career opportunities as managers, specialists, scientists, researchers and educators requires 36 credits (a duration of 18 months to 2 years) to complete. PhD in Biomedical Informatics: develop, implement and evaluate informatics algorithms and technologies for improving health care delivery and management. prepares individuals for informatics leadership positions such as CIOs, Managers, Directors and University Faculty requires 61 credits (three years full-time) to complete.

Certificate in Healthcare Informatics Core Electives Three Courses = 9 credits 3 Courses (chosen from a list) = 9 credits

Master s Degree in Biomedical Informatics Core Track Electives Thesis Six Courses = 18 credits 2 Courses = 6 credits 2 Courses (chosen from other tracks or PhD curriculum) = 6 credits BINF6000/6666 = 6 credits

Specialization Tracks Track I: Bioinformatics This track deals with topics on Molecular Modeling, Drug Discovery, Pre-Clinical Trials, Structural Proteomics and Genomics. Track II: Nanomedicine and Clinical Informatics This track deals with topics on Clinical Decision Support Systems, Processing, Analyses and Prediction for Diagnostic purposes, 2D and 3D Imaging Technologies including Molecular Imaging and Artificial Intelligence Techniques for Diagnostic purposes. Track III: Consumer / Patient Care Informatics This track contains courses on Enterprise Wide Health Care Systems, Electronic Medical Records, Patient Data Management, Health Care Security and XML Technologies, Ontologies and Clinical Databases. Track IV: Hospital/Health Care Management Informatics This track deals with Health Care Data Management, Privacy and Confidentiality of Patient Health Information, Architecture and Information Flow of Hospital Systems.

In-Class courses are designated with 001 suffix while Online Courses have a 00W suffix. Eg: BINF5005-001, BINF5100-00W

PhD Degree in Biomedical Informatics Core Track Electives Colloquium Four Courses = 12 credits 2 Courses at 7000 level = 6 credits 2 Courses at 7000 level = 6 credits BINF7910 = 1 credit BINF8000 = 36 credits Note: Registration for BINF8000 () is only allowed for students who Have successfully passed the Qualifying Examination. The registration form for BINF8000 is different from the regular course registration form.
