Introduction to PaperSave PaperSave 5 for Microsoft Financial Edge IT Prerequisites This document outlines the IT Prerequisites required to install the PaperSave application on your systems. Please contact your PaperSave installation engineer for further assistance. Supported Platforms Here you will find a list of supported platforms for the PaperSave software. Operating System(s) & Software Windows Server 2003 (32-bit & 64-bit) IIS 6.x Windows Server 2008 (32-bit & 64-bit) IIS 7.x Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP3 or greater (32-bit & 64-bit) Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (32-bit & 64-bit) User Access & Platform Configurations You will need to create a Windows user account that will serve as the service account for the PaperSave application system. This account must be a domain-level account (a local user account will not work). It is recommended to use an account other than the built-in Administrator account. This account will also require specific group membership. The breakouts of this membership depending on your platform(s) are listed below. NOTE: During the installation we verify this user name and configure its access in IIS and in our Windows Services. In order to be able to verify this username, we require that the Computer Browser service be running on the designated PaperSave server, and that NetBIOS over TCP/IP be enabled on both the designated PaperSave server and your Domain Controller.

NOTE: If using Kerberos authentication, the workstation object for the designated PaperSave server must be trusted for delegation. Refer to the following Microsoft TechNet Article for more information. Windows Server 2003 Verify that your server has the latest service pack and Microsoft.NET Framework update, with a minimum requirement of Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1. User Group(s) Administrators IIS_WPG (IIS 6.x) WSS_WPG Comments Must be member of local Administrators group Allows account to run an IIS Application Pool Allows account to run a SharePoint Web Application IIS 6.x Configurations The PaperSave software will be installed on a Web Site hosted within IIS. If using IIS 6.x, the following must be taken into consideration. NOTE: The port used for the designated web site must be allowed to communicate via your firewall in order for the software to function properly. IIS 6.x must support both Kerberos protocol and the NTLM protocol for network authentication. Refer to Microsoft KB 215383 to verify. The designated Web Site must be configured to run on a separate port from any other web sites hosted on that server. That web site also cannot be the same site for a SharePoint web site. The designated web site must be configured to run under ASP.NET 2.0.50727. If ASP is not installed, follow these steps to install ASP.NET: (NOTE: The version of ASP.NET that is installed must also match the architecture of your server) Installing ASP.NET (IIS6.0) 1. Go to Control Panel and double-click on Add-Remove Programs 2. Select Add/Remove Windows Components 3. Select Application Server and select Details 4. Select to install ASP.NET and click OK 5. Select Next and then Finish If ASP is installed, follow these steps to configure the designated web site to use that web extension: How to Enable ASP.NET 2.0 for Published Web Services

1. Open Internet Information Services Manager (inetmgr) 2. Go to the Properties Windows of the designated web site 3. Go to the ASP.NET tab 4. In the ASP.NET drop down menu, select ASP.NET 2.0.50727 5. Select OK Windows Server 2008 Verify that your server has the latest service pack and Microsoft.NET Framework update, with a minimum requirement of.net 3.5 SP1. User Group(s) Administrators IIS_IUSRS (IIS 7.x) WSS_WPG Comments Must be member of local Administrators group Allows account to run an IIS AppPool Allows account to run a SharePoint WebApp IIS 7.x The PaperSave software will be installed on a Web Site hosted within IIS. If using IIS 7.x, the following must be taken into consideration. NOTE: The port used for the designated web site must be allowed to communicate via your firewall in order for the software to function properly. The designated Web Site must be configured to run on a separate port from any other web sites hosted on that server. That web site also cannot be the same site for a SharePoint web site. Microsoft SQL Server The PaperSave database runs in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP3 (or greater) or 2008. Previous versions of SQL are not supported. If the PaperSave server and the SQL database server are on two different machines, SQL will sometimes require that the PaperSave s computer object be added as a user with public access to the SQL server. To do so, add the user manually (cannot copy & past name, must be typed in) to SQL using the following syntax: Domain\ServerName$.

Another consideration for a remote SQL server is the surface area configuration. If the server is remote, you must make sure to enable Named & TCI/IP Pipes for communication. Please make sure to enable this prior to the installation, as it requires a restart of the MS SQL server. The service account must have the following security rights enabled in SQL. Sysadmin User Group(s) User Mapping in SQL to the PaperSave database. Granted access as db_owner. User Mapping in SQL to the Financial Edge database(s). Granted access as db_datareader. Comments Must be a sysadmin on your SQL server in order to install the database. Will allow the service account to have full control over the PaperSave database. Will allow the service account read-only access to the Financial Edge database(s), which is required for the integration. SQL Server Configurations If your SQL server is remote from your PaperSave server, make sure that the following is enabled on your SQL server and PaperSave server. MSDTC PaperSave requires that MSDTC (Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator) be enabled on both the SQL server and the PaperSave server (if they are remote). Refer to the following steps, depending on your operating system, to enable MSDTC. NOTE: Make sure this is enabled prior to the installation, as it requires a reboot on both servers to apply the settings. Enable MSDTC on Windows Server 2003 Enable MSDTC on Windows Server 2008

The security settings should look like this on both the PaperSave server and the SQL server:

PaperSave Application Server-Side Specific Configurations PaperSave s Batch Scanning Service PaperSave s Batch Scanning Service uses watch folders to process incoming documents into workflow queue(s). This folder will have to be a shared folder on your network, accessible via UNC path by the users and any networked scanners. The share permissions must allow those users the following access: List Folder Contents, Read, Write & Modify. SharePoint (Windows SharePoint Services or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server) The PaperSave software supports integration with SharePoint, which allows you to publish documents added through the PaperSave system to external users who do not use Financial Edge. This is done by setting up a Web Application and Site Collection to use as the content storage for documents. If the SharePoint integration will be deployed with PaperSave, refer to the configurations and caveats below. SharePoint and the PaperSave Application System must be installed on the same server. SharePoint and the PaperSave Application System cannot share the web application or web port on the same server. Each site will need its own web application and web port. A separate site collection in SharePoint will need to be created for each Financial Edge company you plan to use with this integration. Both your Financial Edge users and your external users will need to be added as Site Members of their corresponding site collection in order to be able to add and view documents.

Database Backup & Maintenance PaperSave stores all document content, image content, metadata and configurations in the PaperSave SQL database. If you are using SharePoint (optional), the content is stored in one of SharePoint s content databases. After the installation, the PaperSave database, and SharePoint content database (if applicable), should be backed up on a regular basis. Optionally you may also create a backup image of the PaperSave server s system state. In the event of disaster recovery, having a current image backup of the server along with a current backup of the database(s) will greatly reduce downtime.

PaperSave Client-Side Specific Configurations Workstation Updates All client workstations that will be using PaperSave, whether it is through the integration with Financial Edge, or through SharePoint, need the Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 update as a minimum requirement. Internet Explorer Configurations The following security settings will have to be made to each client workstation, adding both the PaperSave Application System Site URL, and the SharePoint URL (if applicable). Add the PaperSave Service URL as a Trusted Site on the client workstation o Open Internet Explorer o Select Tools -> Internet Options o Go to the Security Tab o Click on Trusted Sites and then click on the Sites button o Uncheck the Require server verification (https:) checkbox o Enter the PaperSave Service URL select Add then Close Configure Security for Trusted Sites o In the Internet Options menu highlight Trusted Sites and in the Security Level for this zone section click on Custom Level o Verify that the following settings are configured o ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins section Download signed ActiveX controls Prompt Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting Enable Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins Enable Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting Enable o Scripting Section Active scripting Enable

Enabling PaperSave for Financial Edge You will need to register each Financial Edge company you plan to use with PaperSave. Use the following steps to register a company: Be logged in as a Local Administrator of the workstation Log into Financial Edge as the Supervisor or a user with full rights to the company database. This will create a SQL connection string between the PaperSave database and the Financial Edge company database, allowing for the storing of documents. Scanner Setup & Configuration Locally-Attached USB Desktop Scanners In order to use locally-attached USB desktop scanner(s) for our ScanNow feature, the device must be TWAIN-compliant. PaperSave Batch Scanning Service Our batch scanning service processes scanned documents into electronic workflow queues. To use this service, you will need either a locally-attached USB TWAINcompliant scanner, or a networked scanner able to scan to a UNC path via the SMB protocol. Both scanners are required to scan with the following output settings: Multi-Page TIFF file type 300dpi resolution Black & White (Monochrome or 1-bit) color These settings are required in order for the batch scanning service to be able to read barcode coversheets, and be able to separate document stacks into queue items. To test your scanners output settings and verify if it will be compatible with PaperSave, use the PaperSave Barcode Test Utility. If you are unable to print the barcode using this utility, please install our barcode fonts.
