Section 10 Fleet Management (FM) Fleet Management measures remain unchanged since the FY11/12 data collection timeframe. The goal of the measurement configuration is to define demographic information such as fleet and staffing size and composition along with output measures such as average maintenance cost and fuel consumption by type. Most Fleet Management measures we re receiving reflect slight adjustments up or down, essentially remaining unchanged. Some areas where fleet organizations typically make larger adjustments include staffing, vehicle fleet size, and fuel types used. In these three areas, consortium members are mainly holding steady with the exception of fuel usage and fuel types, in some cases reporting significant reductions in consumption of conventional fuels. The continued shift toward more alternative fuel use will be a factor in the consideration to develop a new measure in the future to address this fuel use. In particular, the use of liquefied natural gas, propane, and compressed natural gas as fuel for many applications has increased in the last two years, and it s important to appropriately represent this information in future benchmarking reports.
