Schmidt, continued his real estate business in Denver Colorado in 1978. Focusing on real estate sales with an emphasis on the sale of apartment properties, Schmidt earned the CCIM Designation setting a higher standard from the beginning of his real estate career. He then focused on real estate development and became director of leasing for a prominent Denver area retail and office developer through early 1981. Schmidt then formed his own real estate development company in 1981 with a focus on retail and office development as well as office space brokerage. Schmidt s company leased more than 500,000 square feet of office and retail space and developed 261,000 square feet of office and retail space. Sensing an opportunity to build and sell homes as the market was starting to emerge from the late 1980 s recession, Schmidt formed Falcon Homes and grew to one of the largest private home builders in Denver. Schmidt s projects included building and selling 2,700 single family and multi-family properties and developing over 1,150 acres of land. Schmidt s company was the recipient of numerous Merchandising Excellence Awards and the Quality, Value and Affordability Award from Builder Magazine and a Golden Nugget Award of Merit as Best in the West for Wildcat Ridge, a 320 acre land development south of Highlands Ranch in Douglas County, Colorado presented by the Pacific Coast Builder Conference, the Western Builder Show, and Builder Magazine. During his 15 years of home building in Denver, Schmidt attracted over $42 Million of equity capital from Mobil Oil, Weyerhauser, GMAC, Prudential and several private investors and delivered significant returns to his investors in numerous projects including Falcon Creek in Highlands Ranch, Stratton Ridge, Stonegate, Ken Caryl Ranch, Elkhorn Lodge in Beaver Creek, and Castle Pines. Daren was co-founder of Allante Properties in 2012 and shares his father s passion for real estate development and renovation. Having studied business at the University of Denver, Daren graduated from the University of Colorado in 2006 and immediately pursued investing in real estate and landscape design and construction. Joining his father in 2012 with Allante Properties, Daren focuses on day-to-day construction management of Allante s developments and spearheads the strategic direction for Allante.

Stonegate Accelerates Falcon Homes Growth Schmidt formed Falcon Homes in 1986. In 1990, the company was presented with an opportunity by Larry Huddleson of Huddleson Land Company to develop a 665 lot community in Stonegate with multiple products. Capital was provided by Mobil Oil through a credit guaranty of $8 Million. With this opportunity, the company quickly developed a more sophisticated approach to advertising. In addition to focusing on the product itself and its features, the company commenced a campaign that would enhance name awareness and generate emotional excitement through the campaign entitled "What is a Home?" The campaign was well orchestrated by Miles Advertising and featured print advertising in newspapers and magazines supported by radio ads on popular radio stations in Denver. The ads were well received and traffic volume through the companies models increased substantially. Cookie Boy What is a Home?

Marketing Propelled Falcon into the Lime Light Falcon Homes and Miles Advertising introduced the What is a Home? Advertising Blitz in an effort to appeal to the emotions of home buyers. The print ads featured cute scenes of children and adults living in a home that would communicate that a home is not just bricks and mortar but an assortment of cherished memories. Sales Soared! When you were growing up, you didn't care if your home was small or if the curtains were old or that you had to share a room with your brother and your guinea pig because they both smelled the same. The important things about home were "sneaking in bed with mom and dad" and eating dinner together every night. And isn't it funny that these same things still come to your mind as you search for the home of your dreams.
