Introduction Micro$ale EnterPrize is a powerful tool for Micro$ale users. It is designed for those who have multiple store locations and regions. It gives the owner/manager an invaluable way to monitor, administer, and receive real-time sales information from all their stores at a central location. This manual will show, step by step, how to install and configure this useful, simple to use program. To use EnterPrize, all stores and the corporate/central office must have a full-time internet connection (static internet address is highly recommended). This can be accomplished with either DSL (with at least one static IP address for each site) or Cable modem connection (i.e. Roadrunner). This is necessary for the home site to connect at any time of day or night to receive updated sales information or make changes to a location. An FTP site is needed at the corporate site as well. This is to accommodate automatic file transfers from the remotes. This can be accomplished by using the built-in Windows (using IIS) FTP configuration or any third party software. It will also be necessary to install Microsoft SQL desktop engine (MSDE) at the corporate site. This is covered in the MSDE setup portion of the manual. These install programs are included on the Micro$ale disk. The following picture is of the initial screen upon starting EnterPrize: My State My Restaurant My Restaurant 12:00 150.00 20.00 3.00; My City This shows an example of what the screen would look like after setting up at least one Region, Market, and Restaurant location. There is a column for the most recent time the site updated, the Net Sales at that time, as well as the Discounts and Voids. The following sections will illustrate how to install and configure all elements necessary to use this program. 2

Installation This first section will deal with the steps necessary to prepare the corporate computer for Enterprize. The following is an outline of these steps. 1. Install MSDE (Microsoft SQL Desktop Engine). 2. Install Image Wizard. 3. Install Enterprize. 4. Install IIS in Windows (for FTP). Section 1 When a customer purchases the Enterprize/NetEnterprize option, they will receive a link to a download folder which will include the necessary programs for the corporate office. These include: MSDE, Image Wizard, and Enterprize. Once these programs have been obtained, the first step is to decide which computer the customer wants to use. It should be powerful enough and have enough disk space to accommodate the incoming connections and relatively large amounts of data from the remote sites. System requirements: 2.0 GHz speed or better CPU, 1 GB or more RAM, and 80GB or larger hard drive. Windows Server operating system recommended but not necessary- unless connecting or planning for 10 or more locations! If this is not the case, Windows XP Pro should be sufficient. XP Home and Vista Home systems are not supported. First, start by installing MSDE. Find the MSDE Install folder with the information the customer downloaded. Run Setup.exe inside the folder. For setup type choose typical and hit Next. On the next screen, hit Install. Then restart Windows. Next locate the Wizard Install folder. Run the Setup.exe file in that folder, then hit Next and Install. Then find the Enterprize 7.0.2xx folder and run the Setup.exe program. Use the defaults, and hit Install. To prepare for FTP installation, hit Start/ Control Panel and open up Add Or Remove Programs. Click on Add/ Remove Windows Components. 3

The next screen that comes up has several checkboxes. We will be concerned with the Internet Information Services (IIS) box. Put a check in this box and hit Details. See the screenshot below right: Put a check in this box, Then hit the Details button. This brings up the screen in the illustration below: Make sure both boxes are selected, FTP Service and IIS Snap-In. Then hit OK. This concludes the installation portion of this manual. The programs above are configured in the remaining sections. 4

MSDE Setup Find the folder C:\Program Files\Enterprize\Database\. Copy the EnterPrizeSql.mdf and EnterPrizeSql.ldf files into the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data\ directory. Then, run the Image Wizard.exe file inside the C:\Program Files\Enterprize\ folder. The first screen will look like this: Click on the Sql Setup button on the upper taskbar. Then, click Sql POS Server Setup. This will give the screen illustrated below right: Enter the network name of the PC running MSDE. The User Name must be sa and the Password must be m$. These are hard coded into MSDE. The upper portion of this screen is the Financial Server portion. Do NOT put a check in the box Enable Financial Server here. That setting is not for Enterprize. Do NOT put anything in the middle section Gift/House/Frequent Server. This is only for multi-site in-house gift cards. The bottom section has to be filled out the same as the Financial Server portion. After this has been accomplished, save and exit. Go back in to this screen.at this time, a connection to the SQL server running on this PC should have been established. There are two buttons on the screen: Path To Server Files and Data Location on server. After hitting each one of these buttons in turn, the path to the sql databases on the SQL server should automatically populate. Don t worry about putting a check in the box Enable Enter Prize Server. It is not necessary in this installation. Look at the next illustration. 5

This shows that there is a connection to My SQL Server. This is in both this section and the EnterPrize Server section. Next we will bring up the Enterprize Server Setup screen. This is accomplished by clicking on Sql Setup on the upper taskbar and clicking Enterprize Server Setup on the dropdown. This takes us to the next screen: Push Path to Files. This will automatically populate this field as shown. The Server Connection is the name of the computer running MSDE at this site (typically the PC that Enterprize is installed on). Just hit Save and Exit. Next, hit Sql Setup/Sql Tools on the upper taskbar. This gives the next screen: Again this shows the network name of the PC running MSDE; which is typically, but not necessarily, the computer on which Enterprize is installed. Note: this server name will not be here until the steps in the previous section have been completed! Notice the dropdown box under SQL Database Name. Hit the dropdown arrow and scroll down to EnterprizeSQL. With this file selected, hit Connect Database underneath the box. Hit OK to the confirmation message to continue. 6

To verify that the EnterprizeSQL database was properly connected, hit List Sql Databases On Server. Verify that EnterPrizeSQL is in this list. This finishes MSDE setup. Setting Up An FTP Site Enterprize requires the installation of an FTP site at the corporate office. This can be accomplished by purchasing and configuring a third-party FTP software package, or by using the integrated FTP site in Windows through Internet Information Services (IIS). We will show how to set one up in Windows. We have already installed the Windows IIS component (page 4). Now let s go through the steps to setup an FTP site. First, click on Start/ Settings/ Control Panel/ Administrative Tools: Then open Internet Information Services: Hit the Plus sign next to FTP Sites. This will expand the field and show the Default FTP Site. Right-click it, and rename it. We named ours M$OFFICE FTP Site. Rightclick on your FTP Site, and hit Properties: You do not have to adjust any settings on the FTP Site tab. Click on the Security Accounts tab. 7

This is how to configure security for the FTP site. Allow Anonymous Connections means that when a remote connection is allowed, the user information is not being sent back out over the internet, which is more secure. It also shows that the remote user account must have administrator level access. Create a user account/ password for the remote sites to use when connecting to this server over the local network, and this same user account/ password will be used for FTP access as well. Be sure to setup this same user account/ password on every Remote Location client that will connect to this Corporate server. Do not adjust any settings on the Messages tab. Click the Home Directory tab: Create a folder on the C: drive called ENTERPRIZEFTP. This can be called anything, or can also be an existing directory on the hard drive. Make sure to share the directory for full read/write access. This will become the directory used when configuring Enterprize and Netenterprize later on in this manual. After these steps have been completed, the local network router (or routers, if the Internet provider has their own in addition to the one the customer is using for network and internet connectivity) has to have ports 20 and 21 forwarded to the computer being used for Enterprize. The same thing must be done for ports 1433 and 1434 to enable SQL (MSDE) access for the live sales feature to operate. FTP is used for daily file transfers. Port forwarding is configured differently for nearly every different router manufacturer, so refer to the specific router s documentation to see how to set this up. This concludes FTP configuration. Configuring Enterprize The next step is setting up the Enterprize program. There will be a shortcut on the desktop to launch the Enterprize Remote Location Manager. This illustration shows a brand new installation, with no Remote Location clients set up yet: 8

Click on Setup, then Market/Region. Type in the name of a Region (typically the state where the remote site is), and hit Save. Repeat this for each Region. Type in the name of a Market here This is typically the name of the city where the store is located. It could also be a specific area within a city. It is necessary to hit Save after each Region or Market name is entered. Next, point Enterprize to the FTP directory you setup earlier (see the previous section, Setting up an FTP Site ). On the upper taskbar, hit Setup, and select Setup/Configuration: This takes us to this next screen: Select day their business week starts. Then type in the name of the default directory that was set up in the FTP configuration in the box for Path to FTP. (Type the directory name only, not the actual path.) This will be used by Enterprize when using the Set By Default button to setup Remote Locations. The next step is to setup Remote Location clients. This is done by clicking on Setup/ Location Setup. This takes us to the next screen 9

In the previous steps we created Regions and Markets. Hit the dropdown under Location Region and Location Market, and select the appropriate Region and Market names for the location being configured. Type the name of the restaurant in the field next to Location Name. Hit the button on the upper taskbar Set By Default. This fills in most fields on this screen automatically. See the illustration: The yellow area shows that the paths get setup to include the FTP directory name, the region, the market, and the restaurant name. There is a path to Out Box, In Box, and Local Main Dir. The green area shows the paths at the store location for In Box and Out Box. It also has a field for Remote FTP IP which will be the restaurant s public IP address (unless it is on the same internal network, then it would be the private IP address of the common path workstation), UserName and Password. These must match what is entered in the Netenterprize setup portion at each Remote Location. It is recommended to use sa and m$. Once all these fields are entered, hit Save. Follow this procedure for each Remote Location. Be sure to select the correct Region and Market for each Remote Location before clicking Set By Default.. 10

Once all Remote Locations are setup, exit back to the main Enterprize screen. On the upper taskbar, hit Access Locations/ Connect To Site. Once this has been done, see the illustration below: Click on My Restaurant, and all the fields in this area get populated. Notice that Location Name now shows the name of the restaurant we selected in the window Locations To Contact. The field Server Name is the public IP address of the location we are connecting to. The remaining fields in this area are the default paths where the transferred files are stored at the remote site. Click Log On To Server. This should result in the screen illustrated below: It is necessary to transfer all databases from the remote site the first time it is accessed. This is necessary to be able to make changes on the Remote Location s Menu, Employees, Discounts, etc. from the Corporate Office. These functions are accessed from the main Enterprize screen under Remote Support. 11

To transfer the initial set of databases from a Remote Location, login to the Remote Location, and click on Receive All Databases. This concludes the Enterprize configuration section. Configuring NetEnterprize Finally, we need to set up each Remote Location client to properly communicate with the Corporate Office. There are two parts to this. One part is configured in Micro$ale, and the other is setup in the NetEnterprize program that runs in the background. First, start Micro$ale on the Remote Location site s workstation that is the Common Path/ Server Path (if this is a Quick Service configuration, choose the Common Path register). Go to Manager Menu/ Register Setup/ Path Terminal Setup, and click the SQL Server Setup button: As seen at left, this screen is the same as the one used in the Image Wizard. In this case, put a check in the box Enable FTP Server. This will cause Netenterprize to load automatically when Micro$ale launches. Once this has been saved, exit to Windows, restart Micro$ale, and return to this screen. Again, My SQL server is the public IP address of the corporate office s Enterprize/ SQL server. 12

It is necessary to enter the Local Site Name in the field in the Enterprize Server setup area on this screen. Important! This must be exactly the same as the Location Name of this site entered at the corporate office! If not, the live sales feature will not function. Hit the buttons Path to Server Files and Data Location On Server. These fields should automatically populate with the Windows SQL server data directory path. Hit Save, and exit out to Windows. NetEnterprize Setup (Windows Desktop) The next step is to setup the Netenterprize program from the Windows desktop. Click on the Net Enterprize button on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, and click the SQL Setup button. Below is a screenshot of the configuration/ setup screen: The Path to Files is the same as before. This is the path to the SQL server data directory at the Corporate Office. The Site Name, as before, is the name of the Location Name for this site and should match what was setup at the Corporate Office exactly. 13

The Server Connection will be the public IP address of the Corporate Enterprize server. User Name and Password follow the previous configuration: sa and m$. There is a field for Daily Transfer Begins @. This is the daily time scheduled for transferring the selected files from the Remote Location to the Corporate Office at the interval the customer configures. Select the files to be transferred by hitting (on the top taskbar) Load Default Files and putting a check in the box next to the desired files in the green field at the right of the screen. The interval can be set to any number of hours from 1 to 99. 24 is the recommended setting, which will transfer the files once every day. There are fields for Sales Polling Starts @ and Sales Polling Ends @. These fields set up the time range for Live Sales polling. For Quick Service sites that store sales on multiple terminals, put a check in the box for Poll All Registers for Sales. Check the box for Enable Remote SQL Server. The last setting in this area, Polling Interval Minutes, determines how frequently sales updates will be sent to the Corporate Office. The next field is the FTP URL setup area. The FTP URL is the public IP address for the Corporate Enterprize Server. This is usually the same as the Server Connection address discussed previously. The FTP URL User is the username associated with the security settings on the corporate server s FTP site login. This is also true for the FTP URL PW. The Path to/ For files is the path on the Corporate Enterprize Server to the /Region/ Market/ Location/ that was set up for each Remote Location. Type this path using forward slashes instead of backslashes. This example in the above illustration shows that this store is the / FLORIDA/ Valrico/ The Blue Box/ location, with FLORIDA being the region, Valrico being the market, and The Blue Box being the specific Remote Location name. This configuration is covered in the Enterprize configuration section above. This completes the installation and setup for Enterprize. 14
