Curriculum In nine months, students must complete core and elective coursework, a Master s thesis, and participate in the International Exchange at MIT. Graduates receive a Master s degree from the University of Zaragoza and a certificate from the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program. Leadership is emphasized throughout the program, beginning fall semester with a focus on self-assessment instruments and role-playing and continuing with team dynamics during the four-week international exchange program in January. Here ZLOG students participate in an international exchange with MIT students at both MIT and Zaragoza campuses. Finally, the spring semester develops research and communication skills required by thought leaders. Courses integrate the case method to reinforce foundational concepts and develop problem solving skills. Hence each ZLOG student is required to complete a research thesis that typically involves at least one sponsoring company or organization. This provides an opportunity for students to work closely with industry professionals on a real-life supply chain challenge, along with a professor as expert thesis advisor to together bring new insights and approaches to an active supply chain project. Students are also exposed to industry through seminars led by practitioners and special facility tours. Faculty ZLC has a culturally diverse faculty staff educated at some of the most prestigious universities from around the world such as Columbia, Georgia Tech., Goethe, Harvard, Indian Institute of Technology, MIT, Purdue, Stanford, St. Gallen and Technion. They also have extensive industry experience ranging from start-up companies to multinationals in a variety of industries, such as manufacturing, transportation, banking, consulting, and technology.
