As close to perfection development and production Modular data center August 2014

What is GreenMDC modular data center? Basically it is the modular design construction which is realized by the principle of the modular building and intended to place the computing equipment inside itself. The modular data center is supplied with necessary engineering infrastructure to ensuring uninterrupted power supply and to protect the equipment from the thermal surplus. It is also supplied with the fire alarm, safety and scheduling systems. As well as any modular building the GreenMDC module consists of blocks "cubes". The blocks delivery process on public roads doesn`t require any special permissions. The module gets structured in a ready design right on the platform. It also can be sorted out on blocks and transported to the other platform if necessary. What is necessary to start with?to prepare module for work it is necessary to connect power supply (2 independent inputs) and Diesel Generating Station to the module. It is also has to be provided with communication cables, water supply system for a humidifier, sewerage system to remove condensate out of the central air conditioning system. The last mentioned can be solved by using the tanks installed near the module where water should be sucked out by the signal of the scheduling system. Where to place the module? Modules of various configurations get installed whether inside or outside of the building. There are Indoor and Outdoor options. Generally they differ by the configuration of the cooling system and by the construction of the walls. What about reliability? Engineering systems of the module corresponds to TIER III Uptime Institute requirements. Reservation scheme for the equipment of uninterrupted power supply 2N. Reservation scheme for the equipment of the heatsurpluses removal system N+1. Why Green? First of all its energy efficiency due to unique patented combined heatsurpluses removal system provided by GreenMDC. The system includes collaboration of the free cooling system along with industrial Freon conditioners. This system provides the minimum power consumption depending on the power of the installed computing equipment and climatic conditions outside of the module. Who is that for? Midsize business and large business corporations. State corporations which are interested in their own data centers. To the collocation operators to create collocation platforms without extremely high expenses on purchasing gigantic equipment such as chillers, diesel generating stations, uninterruptible power supplies (or DDIBP). Decreased requirements of a real estate object, considerable decrease on the expenses for repairing building and installation of the equipment of its engineering infrastructure. In fact, the redecoration and repair are inseparable expenses which could not be returned. Also, the usage of the module provides higher flexibility of service compare to traditional data centers.

Modular data center GreenMDC HEATSURPLUSES TAKING SYSTEM The heat removal system is based on the innovative technology of GreenMDC with usage of FREECOOLING technology combination (technology of direct hot air removal out of equipment) and traditional system of industrial conditioning. Equipment scheme reservation: N+1 per each separate subsystem. The system control is in an automatic mode. The optimum operating mode automatically chooses depending on surrounding conditions and the current There are 6 industrial conditioners (20 kw each) in a module hall and 12 ventilating installations per 6 on one hot corridor. The air flow in a cold corridor is carried out with the help of four stitched installations, with twolevel system of a filtration (G3 class and G5 class) Annual average PUE = 1,24

Modular data center GreenMDC POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM The system of the guaranteed power supply was provided by using uninterruptible power supplies. Reservation scheme 2N. Operating time of full loading on one UPS 6 min. DISPATCHING SYSTEM The system of dispatching also provides the transfer of necessary data from the equipment to the operator of a platform (including information about consumption of each rack). In case of the engineering equipment error and not suitable climatic changes coming out below the settled limits inside the module the information about any malfunction is immediately transfers to the operator of a platform.

Modular data center GreenMDC TECHNICAL SAFETY SYSTEMS The module is supplied with the system of gas fire extinguishing, fire alarm system and the CCTV system and access control and securitysystem.

Advantages of the GreenMDC modular data center Highly effective and reliable certified readytouse solution for the placement of the computing equipment. The term of the production and installation of the module ( plugandproduce ) takes no longer than 16 weeks. Possibility of placement both on your own territory and on rented collocation platform as well. The cost factor per one rack is lower than on the container data centers and rebuilding data centers. Possibility to place the module both inside the building and outside of the building as well; considerable decrease of the requirements to the construction and finishing design for the data center placement. Possibility to transport module in unassembled form on the public roads without any special permissions. High energy efficiency due to unique patented combined heatsurpluses removal system provided by GrennMDC. While creating corporate and collocation data centers: absence of the extremely high oneterm expenses on purchasing gigantic equipment such as chillers, diesel generating stations, uninterruptible power supplies which will be completely loaded only when filling up a data center close to 100% Possibility to install oversized computing equipment. Convenient work conditions for ITengineers while installing the equipment compare to work in a container data center. Possibility to add additional equipment to a construction and engineering systems according to the requirement of the corporate standards of the Customer.

Implemented solution of GreenMDC. On the 20th of December, 2013 the MIRAN company started operation of its second data center called MIRAN2 The first platform under the name MIRAN1 was executed by the operator according to the classical architecture. However the founders of MIRAN2 decided to stop on the modular structure this time. The module was developed by the GreenMDC company (St. Petersburg) which has the compliance certificate of ROSTEST. Within the new platform MIRAN is planning on placing 9 modules in two steps: 4 modules, 5 modules. At a final stage general installed capacity of MIRAN2 data center will reach 1.5 MWt. At the moment the first module of the MIRAN2 data center is put into the exploitation.
