The example uses http://www.clubs.psu.edu/up/clubs_example/, as the Web address for an example organization at University Park. Organizations that use http://www.greeks.psu.edu/ in their Web address have "up" as their campus code. A fraternity with a Web address of http://www.greeks.psu.edu/ifc/aaa/ has the directory path /clubs/up/aaa. The councils also have this distinction, (for example, IFC has the directory path /clubs/up/ifc/). 1. First you must install the Secure FTP client for Windows if you haven't already done so. You can download the client (part of the SSH Secure Shell program) from https://www.work.psu.edu/access/ssh/. 2. After the SSH client is installed, run the Start Menu folder. from the SSH Secure Shell 3. Choose from the menu. 4. Choose from "Global Settings" -> "File Transfer."
2 of 6 6/8/2004 11:52 AM 5. Set the "Default File Permission Mask" to 664 and the "Default Directory Permission Mask" to 775 as shown below. SSH Secure File Transfer (SFTP) ships with "Default File Permission Mask" set to 644, and with "Default Directory Permission Mask" set to 755. NOTE: Changing these settings are necessary so that other Webmasters in your organization can change the files you upload. It is safe to use the new settings for files in your Personal Web space, and other files in your PASS space. Click the button to apply the changes. 6. Click the button.

Enter /clubs/<your campus code>/<your group directory> for the folder/directory name. Enter as shown, but use <your campus code> rather than "up" if you are from another Penn State location. Use <your group directory> rather than clubs_example. If your organization does not have the campus code in its Web address, do not use it here. Note: /clubs/ is a shortcut for /.../dce.psu.edu/fs/services/www/clubs/wwwroot/. You can copy and paste files between Windows Explorer and the Secure FTP window. To do so, first start Windows Explorer and browse to the directory in which your files are located.
