Navigating the Back Office Selling products and services online is easy. Set Up Your Account Profile The information entered in your Contact Profile is your public profile and the information you would want your customers to see. Click on Contact Profile under My Account to enter your business information. 4
Setting Up Your Shopping Cart: Select a Template Choose a Shopping Cart template that is simple for your customers. To make things easy, we recommend you pick one of the highlighted templates to get your store up and running quickly. Choose A Theme 1. Go to Master Templates and click Create New. 2. Go to Filter by and select Themes. Advance to the third page. 3. Preview the cart templates by clicking on the image. 4. Click Select to choose either Default Theme or Neutral Theme and begin customizing. Note: Under Master Templates you will find all the tools needed to create and customize your ecommerce Shopping Cart. 5
Set Up: Customize Your Template Once you have chosen your template you will automatically be taken to the Editing Page. Click through the different pages to edit the cart, add your company name or logo, change colors, etc. You can choose to edit your template using Theme Editor (shown below) or Designer Mode if you are familiar with coding. Add Your Company Name or Logo Click the Theme Settings tab, select Company Name or Upload a Company Logo to add either. Only one can appear at the top of your cart. Scroll to the bottom of the page to save or preview. 6
Preview Your Shopping Cart The preview function allows you to see your Shopping Cart layout, your products and changes in real time. Products, once saved, will automatically populate in the body of your online store. 7
Create & Save Products to Your Shopping Cart Adding products to your Shopping Cart is simple. Using the Add a Product is the fastest way to add products. The Products tab on the main navigation bar houses all the functions/options needed to further edit and manage your products in your store. Click Add a Product to create your initial product or service. 8
Create Products & Save Them in Your Store Adding products and optimizing your Shopping Cart is simple. There are 3 principle areas you need to add information for each product: Details, Images, Links. You can familiarize yourself with the other areas and add to them as needed. 1 2 3 1. Details: Add and edit information (Name, Price, Description) for each product, as well as set what products you want to feature. 2. Images: Add single or multiple images for each product. 3. Links: Here is where you will create navigation links for your cart as well as find the URLs needed to link products from your website to your Shopping Cart (Covered in-depth later.). 9
Edit & Manage Product Information Once you have created a product you can go back and add or edit information. Under the Manage Products tab you can view all your products, edit information, and choose what to feature in your Shopping Cart with little effort. Note: All the tools you need to edit and maintain your products are located in the drop-down menu under the Products tab. o o o Clicking one of your Products or the Edit button takes you to the Edit Product page. Clicking the Test button previews your Shopping Cart. Clicking the Get Link button takes you to the Quick Link Builder page (not recommended for use with the website builder). Note: Creating links and linking products to your cart are the final steps you will do prior to launching your Shopping Cart and ecommerce website. 10
Configuring Shipping & Verifying Taxes After you ve added or edited and saved your product information, you ll want to set up shipping and ensure the proper tax rates are configured. To set up shipping or taxes, click Products on the main navigation bar to bring up the drop down menu. 11
Set Up Your Shipping Services There are several options when it comes to setting up shipping charges. Depending on your products, Flat-Rate (Recommended) is likely the simplest for you and your customers. Click Setup Shipping to configure your shipping service charges. Note: Under Products > Setup Shipping you can further edit product shipping services for individual products. 12
Verifying Your Sales Taxes Depending on where you are located and the products you are selling, tax rates will vary. The system will automatically set the proper tax rate based on your location. You can add further regions and tax settings where appropriate. o o o Click Products > Setup Taxes to configure your sales tax rates and region. You will see your taxes set to the default Country and Region of your contact profile. This is the rate at which your customers will be charged. If your business has a physical location in more than one region, click Add State. If you have locations in other Countries, click Add Country. Note: Under Other Taxes you can further edit tax information regarding the default county and city level taxes based on postal/zip code of your customer by clicking the rate. 13
Setting Up Your Payment Account The Express Payment Processor ensures a seamless and simplified way to manage customer payments and your store s revenue. Four steps and you are ready to take payments go to Setup and click Gateway Setup to begin. 1. Select the Simplify option and click Continue. 14
2. Sign-up or login to your Simplify account. The sign-up form will prepopulate most details. 15
3. Click Link my account to link your processor account and continue. 16
4. You re ready to take customer payments. Return to Add Links & Purchase Buttons To continue adding products, editing information, or to create product links, click on Home at the top and then Products on the main navigation bar. 17
Link Your Website to Your Shopping Cart Now that you have setup products, taxes, shipping and payments, connecting your website to your Shopping Cart is very easy. You ll be able to create links to each product, customize the Purchase buttons, and control where you want customers to go after they have completed a transaction and while they are still shopping. Create Product Links o Go to Products on the main navigation bar and click on Manage Products. o Click on the product you want to create a link. o Click on Links. o Keep this page open and open the Web.com website builder in another window. Note: All the information you need to create working links is found within the Links section. Each product has its own URL. The highlighted box shown above has the URL you will use to create the link for your product. 18
Add Links & Purchase Buttons By following the step-by-step process below within the website builder, you ll be able to create a seamless purchasing process for your customers. Link Your Products to Your Shopping Cart With the Web.com website builder open, go to Manage Pages. Click the page where your products or services are listed for sale. Here is where you will add Purchase Buttons and embed the links for your products that will connect to your Shopping Cart. We ll cover 2 ways you can add a purchase link to your website: 1. Manual Button - Create your own with a box and text 2. Image Button - Use a pre-created image from our stock 19
Create Product Links in Your Website Manual Button Create A Purchase Button 1. Click Content in the top left navigation of the builder and drag an empty text box to where you want the button to appear. 2. Click on the Text Box and Text function in the top right corner of the builder. 3. Click Create Link. Note: You can customize the button further using the Text and Box edit functions. 20
Embed Product Links Manual Button Create A Link then Preview the Link 1. In the Text to Display area, type the text message to display on your button (Buy Now, Purchase, etc). 2. For the URL, go to Links under Products > Manage Products in the Shopping Cart builder and click the link to edit your product. 3. Copy and paste the URL from the top box in the Product Links section. (See Page 17). 4. Click the Preview link in your website builder to preview your page. 5. Click on your newly created Purchase button and it should take you directly to your Shopping Cart. 21
Create Product Links in Your Website Image Button Create A Purchase Button 1. Click Images in the top left of the builder. 2. In the Search box type in ecommerce button then click the Search icon. 3. Choose the style button you like and drag it to where you want it to appear on the page. 22
Create Product Links in Your Website Image Button Create A Purchase Button 1. Click on the Button image you dragged to your website; a function bar will appear just above the image. 2. Click on the Link icon to create a link from your button to your product. Note: You can resize the button easily once placed by dragging inward/outward the handles located in each corner of the selected image. 23
Embed Product Links Image Button Create A Link then Preview the Link 1. For the URL, go to Links under Products > Manage Products in the Shopping Cart builder. 2. Copy and paste the URL from the top box in the Product Links section. (See Page 17). 3. Click the Preview link in your website builder to preview your page. 4. Click on the newly created purchase button and it should take you directly to your shopping cart. 24
Preview Your Website & Check Your Links While in Preview mode, check to make sure the links you ve created work properly. Click on your Buy or Purchase Button; It will take you directly to your storefront. 25
Check the Links to Your Shopping Cart Once you have made sure your links work, go through the entire cart flow to make sure the other functions (Continue Shopping, Clear Cart) work properly, including Check Out. Note: You can create links for Continue Shopping and Clear Cart to direct customers to your website. 26
Add a Shopping Cart Link to your Website Before you publish, it is a good idea to add a shopping cart link to your website. This will let visitors view what is in their shopping cart, without having to add a product to the shopping cart. Add the Link to your Website Page 1. Click Content in the top left navigation of the builder and drag an empty text box to your website header. This will ensure it appears on all pages. 2. Double click on the text box and enter Shopping Cart. You can then select the text and underline to create a link. 3. Click Create Link from the Text function in the right side of the builder. 27
Add a Shopping Cart Link to your Website Copy the Link from the Shopping Cart 1. For the Link URL go to Setup > Site Links in the Shopping Cart builder. 2. Copy the Check Out/View Cart URL and paste into your website builder Create a Link window. 3. Click Preview in your website builder to preview your website page. 4. Click on the newly created Shopping Cart link and it should take you directly to your shopping cart. 28
