From 2000 to 2002, he worked as software engineer within the CryoNetwork company, where he was responsible for the specification and development of exchange formats between different 3D tools. He then joined the SeT Laboratory in 2002, first as a contract lecturer/researcher, then as a research engineer in 2006. One of his first tasks was the deployment of the first virtual-reality platform of the lab and is responsible for its daily management ever since. His research activities deal with issues related to real-time 3D computer graphics and virtual reality mainly in the context of simulation projects. He works especially on GIS-based automated techniques for the generation of 3D virtual worlds. The corresponding 3D digital models are then used to develop simulations in virtual environment: pedestrian crowd simulation, train/car driving simulator, etc. The issues addressed concern the generation and optimization of terrain meshes from digital terrain models, geolocation of buildings and scenery elements (vegetation, street furniture, etc.), generation and integration of roads into the terrain ground model, etc.
