2 Hospital list The hospitals listed on the following pages are grouped together by area for ease of reference. The list shows the scales applicable to each one. Scale A covers the most expensive hospitals and Scale D the least expensive. Classifications do not reflect quality of treatment. If more than one scale is shown against a hospital it means that there are different room costs within that hospital and if you have a lower scale of cover your admission will be restricted to a lower cost room. We strongly recommend that you use a hospital which is classified in our hospital list within your scale or a lower scale of cover. Your scale of cover is detailed on your Membership Certificate. If you receive treatment in a higher scale hospital (e.g. if you have scale D but are treated in a hospital classified as scale A) the maximum amount we will pay is the amount that we would have paid if you had gone to a hospital within your scale of cover, this could leave you with a large shortfall. You will be responsible for paying the difference between the amount we agree to pay and the treatment expenses incurred. Please refer to your Policy Document for more information. Hospitals not included in the list We have only included the NHS hospitals which our customers use most frequently (to include all NHS hospitals would make the list very long an difficult to use). If you wish to have treatment at a private hospital which is not included on our list, it may be because the hospital is new, so please contact our helpline - we will be able to tell you whether or not the policy will cover your treatment there.
