VMware Registration for VCP Certification and Attendance Course Objectives This hands-on training course explores installation, configuration, and management of VMware vsphere, which consists of VMware ESXi/ESX and VMware vcenter Server. Upon completion of this course, you can take the examination to become a VMware Certified Professional. The course is based on ESXi 5.0, ESX 5.0, and vcenter Server 5.0. Students who complete this course may enroll in any of several more-advanced vsphere courses. See for options. STUDENT ATTENDANCE and CLASS WITHDRAWAL POLICY Students are required to attend all classes for which they are registered. The student is responsible for fulfilling all course requirements and completion of all course assignments to receive credit for the course. If classes are missed for any reason, the student is held responsible for the entire content of the course and any missed work. The student is responsible to obtain class notes from fellow students for any sessions missed. If the student stops attending classes FOR ANY REASON, this is NOT an automatic withdrawal from the course. The final grade of F will be recorded, which will permanently appear on your record unless an official withdrawal form is signed and submitted to the Registrar. Withdrawals after the 9th week of the semester are permitted only under extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the instructor. Please be courteous and arrive ON TIME for class. CELL PHONE USE It s important that you and your classmates not be distracted from learning. The prohibition of cell phones is covered in Article II of the Student Code of Conduct. Any disruption of teaching, which specifically includes the use of cell phones, pagers, or other electronic devices, is considered a Level 1 violation of Article II of the Student Code of Conduct. Any violation may result in disciplinary action ranging from a warning letter to probation, suspension or dismissal from the College. As such, please turn off and put away these devices prior to your entering the classroom. Laptop computers if used in class -- are to be used for academic work only, not for recreational means or surfing of the Internet. ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT Academic integrity is expected of all students at all times, whether in the presence or absence of members of the faculty. Submitting another person's work or ideas as one's own is considered academic misconduct. Academic Integrity and Disciplinary procedures can be found in the Student Handbook and on the Farmingdale State web site under "Policies".

5 GRADING AND EVOLUATION CRITERIA Note: Successful completion of the class earns you the opportunity to take the VMware Certified Professional exam. There is also a significant discount to take the exam. You must complete at least 85% of the mandatory labs to 'successfully' complete the course. You may, in fact, pass the course but not have completed enough of the lab work to warrant the certificate needed to take the VCP exam! * 70 % (20/20/30) of the grade is based on two Midterm exams and Final * 30 % (20/5/5) of the grade is Labs, participation and Attendance Grading Structure: Sequence of the labs Number Grade Letter Grade A A B B B C C C D D 59-0 F The sequence of the labs in the Student Kit was designed to teach the class in a 5-day commercial class.
