4 Safety Advices Attention! Treat your slackline kit with the utmost care and respect! The system carries a lot of tension. High forces can occur due to the high load. Bad injuries can happen, if the slackline kit is used in a wrong manner! The slackline kit may only be used for the purpose described here, the balancing on a narrow webbing tightened in hip height, other uses are prohibited (e.g. NO Highlining) Only use the described method of setup and loosening the slackline, special care is required while handling the tightening system Examine your slackline before each use for damage and wear. The slackline may only be used in technically perfect condition. The slackline kit may not used by children under the age of 14 and if so a supervision of a parent or guardian who is familiar with the slackline is required Only sufficiently strong fixed points may used for mounting the slackline (minimum 2500 kg load capacity) Prevent hard falls from the slackline by training a controlled and safe step down and examine the ground under the line for sharp and hard objects before every session The slackline should not be tightened higher than 90 cm above the ground The slackline should be tightened with the included tightening system only by one person Do not exceed the Working Load Limit of 8 kn (around 800 kg load) Only one person should balance on the slackline in the same time Surrounding persons should keep a safe distance to the slackline of at least 3 meters Do not leave the slackline unattended while it is tightened Only use the original parts of the slackline kit. Any modifications, additions or unauthorized repairs can cause injury and will void the warranty. Page 4

Fixpoints two sufficiently strong and firmly rooted fixed points without sharp edges (load capacity of at least 2500 kg) e.g. entrenched and healthy trees with min 30 cm trunk diameter (slacklining on trees only with protectors please) 2. Environment soft ground (e.g. grass, sand or padding with mats) Observing and cleaning of the ground for sharp or hard objects (stones, glass, etc.) you should padd all remaining hard or sharp obstacles Page 5

7 Threading and Adjustation of the Slackbiner tensioned tails around tree equal length tails! loose tails The treesling is always threaded as double layer, ensure that the tails matching in length (important for centering the middle tapering of sling). For extension of sling, just make the loops around the biner a little bit further and feed with webbing from the loose tails. Step 4: Mounting the shackle and the sewn end loop of the slackline, close the shackles properly and tighten the thread hand-tight. 8 Assembly of Tightening Strap near Anchor 2 Step 1: Defining the point for anchoring the slackline on the tightening strap - depending on the total length of the slackline - the Lockman is attached with approriate distance D to anchor point 2. 9 Installation of Treesling at Anchor 2 Step 1: Attach the treeprotection to the tree Step 2: Mount the treesling (modell with ring) around the tree and adjust the length in the Slackbiner Attention! the ends of the sling should not converge at an angle over 120, an angle between is recommended Attention! the ring is centered in front of the tree 1 max SlackBiner Direction of Slackline the angle of the sling should not be too shallow (>120 ) the stress in the sling will rise very high but! the angle of the sling should not be too sharp, the position of the quicklink will be unfavorable (90 is best) Page 9

11 Safety Check before Tightening Procedure Is the slackline without twists? Are the treeslings properly positioned on the treeprotectors? Are the treeslings unfolded for max. load distribution surface? Is the slackline on both sides centered to the trees? Are the shackles properly closed and is the Ellington threaded right? Are no people threatened by the slackline? Is the height of the slackline everywhere in max. 90 cm? Installation of the Multiplier Step 1: Step 2: Attach the outgoing end of tighening strap to the 1. quicklink with a Watermans Knot, pay attention on clean tie of knot Attach the 2. quicklink over the treesling beneath the ring, mount both arms of the sling. 1 from Ellington 2 rest of strap Quicklink Step 3: Thread the outgoing end (from knot) of tightening strap through the 2. quicklink on the ring and keep it back to the 1. quicklink, then thread it through the 1. quicklink. 3 Close Quicklink! pull direction Slackline Page 11

12 Use of Handfriend and Tightening the Slackline Step 1: At the outgoing end of webbing, the Handfriend pull aid is attached with the following principle (it works with 2 layers too). 1! Do not forget to lock the buckle! Step 2: Step 3: Tensioning of the slackline while pulling with both hands and using body mass impulse, until both quicklinks come close together. Resetting the Watermens Knot at the quicklink up to 20 cm before the shackle of the tensioning strap. 13 Backup of Ellington while Balancing When the slackline reaches the desired tension level, remove the multiplier and secure the Ellington with a knot - for example a slip knot. This simple knot works in a double loop too. Pull slip knot tight Loosening the Ellington The loose tail of the tightening strap is pulled out with a solid push from the backward side (folding the webbing once increases the lever). The Handfriend can assist. Attention! Keep a distance of minimum 2 m between the ring and the hand or the handfriend while pulling (dynamic stretch blow back).! Fold the webbing before pulling out keep proper distance before pulling to backward side Taking Down the Slackline Disassemble the tightening strap compeletely, remove the shackles and the slackline, open the treeslings, roll up the treeprotection and store all components in the transport bag (take care that your equipment is dry). 14 Care Instructions and Storage Product life: Caution! Exceptional circumstances may reduce significantly the life of the product or completely exhaust product life, such as contact with chemicals, extreme heat, sharp edges etc. The actual life is affected by many factors: use intensity, use frequency and use environment, use care, storage conditions and maintenance. Wear of the tightening strap: Wear of the tightening strap is normal and is caused by functional reasons. Typical wear is abrasion of yarns and melting local spots on the surface. We recommend to replace the tightening strap in regular intervals. Cleaning of the slackline: Dirt and moisture reduces the performance and durability of the slackline. Dirty treeslings and the slackline can be cleaned with a wet cloth. Heavy dirt can washed away by hand in soft warm water. Do not use any cleaning detergent. Dry the equipment at a cool dark place and ensure adequate ventilation. Transport and storage: Please dry wet equipment first before storing them inside the included transportation bag (useful as backpack too). Storage of the equipment at a dry and dark place. Keep your equipment away from chemicals, particulary acids (car battery), avoid high temperatures (furnaces, ovens) and shun mechanical stress (edges, rough surfaces, bumps etc.). Replacement of components: Slackline, tightening strap and slings: with tears, cuts, fraying and very severe abrasion Replacement only with the original Landcruising kit components Environmental informations: Disposal of worn components separately: webbing and slings over yellow bin, metal parts and shackles over scrap metall management We omitted every dispendable packaging material The manual is printed on recycled paper Page 14

15 Disclaimer and Warning Notes Warranty: The statutory warranty is valid. Excluded from this warranty are: normal wear and tear, modifications and changes, damage caused by accident, misuse, improper storage and usage. Liability: The purpose and function of the Landcruising Cruiser slackline kit is the balancing on a narrow webbing, max. 90 cm above the ground, between two suitable fixed points. The liability of the manufacturer and seller is excluded for any other improper usage of the product, in particular in following cases: the slackline is rigged higher than 90 cm above the ground this slackline kit should not be used as highline! the anchor points are not suitable (in minimum 2500 kg load capacity) the slackline is rigged over uneven and hard, dangerous ground the slackline is located over sharp edges and rough surfaces the slackline is tightened by more than 1 person mechanical aid components ( e.g levers) are used for tightening single components are replaced by other not authorized parts children are balancing without supervision of parents or guardians surrounding persons do not keep the minimum distance to the line (3 m) more than one person balances on the slackline at the time the kit is rigged in the outside over a long period of time (weathering) We as manufacturers and sellers do not take any responsibility for body injury, consequential or collateral damage which is caused by the use of the slackline kit. You take the full responsibility for all risks and property damages, personal injuries or death, which may arise in connection with the misuse of our products.
