3 1. Safety instructions Read the manual carefully. The chain hoist may only be operated by qualified personnel. All modifications to the device will void the warranty. Repairs are to carry out by skilled persons only. Use only original parts as spare parts For safe and efficient operation Before using the chain hoist you should check the hook, the load chain, the breaking device and lubrication of the block carefully. If there are damages, it is not allowed to use the chain host. When installing the provisions of BGV C1 (former VBG 70) and EN must be observed. The installation must be performed only by authorized personnel. Children and layers should be kept away from the chain hoist. Do not lift a load which exceeds the specified capacity. Do not use the block chain as a sling. Do not use when the chain is kinking. To avoid accidents, it is strictly forbidden to reside under the hoist when a load is lifted. If the hand chain do not moves anymore, do not use excessive force. Inspect the hoist to find a possible cause. Use the chain hoist only for vertical load movements, not for towing loads.. After using the chain hoist should be free of dirt and stored dry to prevent rust and corrosion. The chain should regularly be greased at least annually. BEWARE! Damages caused by the disregard of this user manual are not subject to warranty. The dealer will not accept liability for any resulting defects or problems. Designated use of the chain hoist This device was developed for professional use on stages, in discos, theatres etc. the chain hoist is a machine, in sense of the EUs machine guideline, for lifting and lowering loads in vertical direction. Avoid convulsions or any form of violence during installing or operating the unit. Make sure that during the installation and removal of the chain hoist the area below the place of installation is basically cordoned off. This also applies to implementation of service. Make familiar yourself with the functions of the device before start-up. People without the experience should not handle with the device. The most cause of functional disorder is inappropriate handling. For reasons of safety unauthorized changes are forbidden. A usage of the device which differs from usages which are described in this manual can cause damages of the device. In that case the warranty expires. Additional you should notice that every differed usage is related with dangers and can cause e.g. a crash. For transport use the original packing or designated accessory to avoid damages during the transport. During assembly, reassembling and disassembling an unnecessary stay in the range of moving areas, on lightning bridges, under elevated work stations or any other danger zones is forbidden. The operator is obliged to following safety-related and mechanical facilities: - Before the first start-up or after critical changes before restarting it has to be checked by an expert. - Review in the frame of the inspection test at least all four years by an expert. - Review by a qualified person at least once a year How to carry out the overhead installation: If possible you should install the device out of the lounge area of people. IMPORTANT! Overhead installation requires a high level of experience. This includes knowledge of calculating the payload, used installation material and safety inspections of the used material and the projector whereas the required experience is not limited to this. Do not try to carry out installation yourself under any circumstances if you are not qualified. Contact a professional installer. An inappropriate installation can lead to injuries and/or damaged properties. It is not allowed to install to install the chain hoist in the grip area of people. 5 3. Start-up 1. Optical control Before each operation you should make an optical control. At this optical control you should pay attention to damages of the enclosure, hand chain, the chain load and the load hook. If there are damages or parts are improperly installed or missing, it is not allowed to use the chain hoist. 2. Function test After the optical control you should make a function test. The chain hoist should run smoothly and without hesitation or binding. Please note that the minimum load for the correct function of the brake, are kg. If problems occur during the function test, it is not allowed to use it. 3. Lifting the load The load must be firmly hooked. The hook must be completely closed. Pull to lift the load on the hand chain. While doing this, stand in the same position and the same angle as the drive wheel. Do not pull in an oblique angle. Pull gently. If the chain cannot be moved on, please do not force it. Find and correct the cause. It is not allowed to lift persons with the chain hoist. The lifting of the load must be carried out manually; it is not allowed to operate it mechanically. 4. Secure The load must be secured when they have reached the desired height. The chain must not hang permanently under load. To do this, use a suitable secure. 5. Lowering the load Pull to lower the load on the hand chain. While doing this, stand in the same position and the same angle as the drive wheel. Do not pull in an oblique angle. Pull gently. If the chain cannot be moved on, please do not force it. Find and correct the cause. If you try to lower the load on the useful length of the chain addition, damage may occur to the hoist. 5 / 8

Maintenance and cleaning In reviewing the safety and mechanical equipment, the following should be checked: - Strength of the chain hoist - Damage or material fatigue of supporting parts - Seizing all the bolts, and its review on corrosion - It may not be visible deformations - Mechanically moving parts like axles, eyes, etc. may not show any signs of wear and must not rotate with unbalances The chain hoist should be cleaned regularly. Do not use chemical products for cleaning and only clean with damp cloth. The chain hoist should be lubricated at least once a year. There must be no oil or grease gets on the pads. 6 / 8
