Conditions of employment and additional benefits at UBS in Switzerland Your advantages with UBS.

We reward your personal performance. At UBS we recruit and employ the best staff members you. You can also expect something from us in return. When you join the UBS team, you ll find market-oriented employment conditions and attractive additional benefits. We invite you to find out more.
Compensation We offer you competitive and performance-based compensation that rewards personal responsibility, client focus and the sustainable implementation of our business objectives. Salary Your salary depends on the requirements of your role and function in terms of abilities, experience and knowledge. The level and progression of your salary are based on normal practice for the role and function in the relevant local labor market. Your salary will be paid into your UBS bank account in twelve monthly installments. As a UBS employee, you ll have a salary account with preferential conditions that is opened for you specifically for this purpose. Variable compensation Variable compensation is based on an employee's performance and achievement of individual objectives. It is determined once a year and allocated in the first quarter of the following year. In addition to individual performance, the amount of variable compensation you receive is also influenced by the total resources available, the performance of your business area, risk management and personal conduct. The performance of every employee is also assessed against peer groups. In general, all employees are eligible for variable compensation with the exception of certain groups such as apprentices, interns and employees paid by the hour or those on a temporary contract. All variable compensation decisions are made at the complete discretion of UBS. The applicable regulatory and contractual agreements take precedence.
Retirement benefits and insurance Pension fund UBS attaches great importance to your retirement pension provisions. The Pension Fund of UBS aims to satisfy the highest standards with regard to both security and reliability. UBS's pension scheme is designed to insure you and your dependents against the economic consequences of aging, disability and death. The innovative and flexible pension provision model used by the Pension Fund of UBS allows you to set and meet your own objectives by selecting the contribution amount that's right for you. When you retire, you ll also have the opportunity to optimize your pension in line with your personal requirements and financial objectives (pension payments and / or lump sum, size of insured spouse's pension, refund option). Other options include pledging your pension benefits or withdrawing vested benefits early to finance the purchase of your own home. The Pension Fund of UBS offers two pension plans: the Pension Plan and the Bonus Plan. Employees are accepted into the pension plans of the Pension Fund of UBS irrespective of their rank or function. You may buy into the Pension Fund of UBS at any time up to the amount of statutory benefits. These buy-ins increase your retirement savings and are usually tax-deductible in Switzerland. Age-related credits are financed through participant and employer contributions. The contributory salary (annual salary minus the coordination deduction) in the Pension Plan and the contributory bonus in the Bonus Plan are used as the basis for calculating age-related credits. Risk contributions from the age of 25 are covered by the employer. The amount of available retirement savings is used to calculate the retirement benefits. Retirement savings can be drawn either as pension payments or as a lump sum. Risk benefits are determined based on the total pensionable salary in the Pension Plan and the Bonus Plan. The regular retirement age for UBS employees is 64. Continued employment beyond the age of 64 must be agreed with UBS. In the Pension Fund of UBS, employees are required to enter regular retirement by the end of the month in which an employee s 65th birthday falls. The Pension Fund of UBS allows for early retirement from the age of 58. From this age, employees also have the option of partial retirement or a reduction in the level of employment while keeping the same insured salary. When an employee enters full retirement before reaching the statutory AHV retirement age, the Pension Fund of UBS pays an AHV bridging pension. Employee insurance We offer attractive insurance solutions and discounts on insurance premiums, such as occupational and non-occupational accident insurance, supplementary accident insurance and term life insurance. Your advantages at a glance: Premiums for occupational accident insurance are covered by UBS. The firm also covers 50 percent of the premiums for non-occupational accident insurance for employees and 100 percent for members of senior management. UBS covers half of the cost of supplementary voluntary accident insurance, such as treatment costs (private hospital), disability / death benefit, daily benefits and special risks. All eligible employees are covered under a mandatory daily illness benefits insurance scheme, which in the event of illness covers any loss of income for a maximum of 730 days, including continued payment of salary by the firm. UBS pays half of the premiums due. You also have the opportunity to, at your own expense, benefit from disability and term life insurance at preferential rates. In addition, we offer access to attractively priced supplementary health and accident insurance policies for family members.
Health and work-life balance Working time models and vacation Time Flex Our progressive time flex model is based on flexible annual working time with no required core hours. Personal time autonomy allows you to structure your working hours subject to operational requirements in the way that best suits both your own needs and those of your clients. Subject to agreement, you can also work on a part-time basis, job-share, or work from home as a teleworker. In addition, we also offer partial retirement or a reduction in the level of employment with the same pensionable salary from the age of 58 onwards. In addition to the statutory vacation entitlement, UBS employees may buy up to a maximum of two additional weeks of vacation per year. The corresponding amount will be deducted from your salary at the time of purchase. You are free to take the vacation at any time during the year. Working hours and vacation The average working week is 42 hours. Your vacation entitlement is 25 or 30 days per calendar year depending on your age and rank. Job and family Pregnancy / maternity The maximum entitlement to continuation of salary payments whilst on leave during pregnancy and after the birth of your child depends on the number of continuous years employment you have with UBS.
