3 Products Tested in this Certification: The Bosch Access Professional Edition 3.0 solution has passed all criteria for ACM certification, and is therefore a certified solution for integration with XProtect. The following list contains the tested versions of the products and components from both Milestone and Bosch which were included in the Access Control Module (ACM) certification process. Access Professional Edition is an easy-to-use, scalable software for controlling access to small and medium-sized enterprises with high security requirements. This modular system grows flexibly with you needs and can be integrated with a broad range of access and security functions. You can easily upgrade it to an enterprise solution while keeping installed hardware so no investments or resources are wasted. Access Professional Edition uses a client/server structure, letting you access the server from any authorized workplace. Bosch has developed the APE XProtect Plugin to make use of the XProtect Access Control Module to unite access control and video into one powerful security solution. This provides a consolidated interface and dedicated functions in the XProtect Smart Client to enable users to effectively monitor access events, manually control passages and conduct investigations on specific access points or cardholders. Bosch APE 3.0 and Milestone XProtect Integration Summary: The final result of the integration between the Bosch APE 3.0 access control system and the Milestone VMS is the real-time display of the Bosch managed access control alarms and events in the Milestone XProtect Smart Client, control of locked doors and access requests from within the Smart Client, and synchronization of both live and recorded display of video and images with access control events. The five main processes involved in the integration are: 1. Authentication Bosch Access Professional Edition (APE) 3.0 server credentials and IP address are added to the Access Control Module general settings menu in the XProtect Management Bosch - Milestone Certified Solution Summary document 3

4 Client or Master Client application. The IP address of the server where the Bosch APE XProtect Plugin must also be added along with the required virtual port numbers to enable the transmission of metadata between the two systems. Connection between the Bosch system and the XProtect system is configured within the Access Control Module menu in the Management Client or Master Server Management Application. 2. Camera Association Cameras and other video sources from the XProtect system are associated to doors from the Bosch system in order to link video with events from doors. Cameras available in the XProtect system can be associated with Doors from the Access Control system via drag and drop connections. When an Access Control Monitor plugin is added to the Smart Client the configuration menu allows selection of the door, or doors, which will be monitored. 5 3. Event and Alarm Linking The Bosch APE XProtect Plugin receives TCP/IP notifications and requests from the APE 3.0 access control system and transmits these to the XProtect system. These notifications and requests are linked to events and alarms through the Access Control Module management menu in the XProtect Management Client and through Alarm Definitions. The Event Server receives and processes these transmissions. Event log metadata can then be used to synchronize XProtect video with Bosch triggered events. Creation of Alarm Definitions and Rules within the Management Client or Master Server Management Application determines how the system will respond to incoming Access Control events and notications. Events and Notifications are displayed in the Smart Client in real time. Events, Notifications and Alarms can be processed in the Access Control tab, the Alarm Manager, or in Live and Playback tabs using an alarm list view object. 4. Smart Client/Mobile Client Access Monitor view items within the XProtect Smart Client can be associated with doors and will display Bosch access control notifications and requests synchronized with video. Control buttons in the Smart Client and Mobile Client (Corporate and Expert only) allow operators to unlock and lock doors, and admit card-holders based upon rules or requests. Access Control Module related map icons can be added to maps and can display status messages. Notifications can be configured to provide pop-up windows which will notify users of specific events even if the Smart Client application is minimized. Events and Alarms triggered by the Bosch integration and synchronized with video can be viewed in real-time and searched historically. Bosch - Milestone Certified Solution Summary document 5

6 The Smart Client supports map functionality including the placement of several Access Control icons which display the status of the system. Pop-Up Notifications can be generated to notify operators of received Access requests which require attention. Certification Results: All of the integrated functionality between the Bosch APE 3.0 system and the Milestone XProtect system was demonstrated and documented. The integration works on all current versions of the Milestone XProtect Advanced and Professional VMS products which support the ACM. There are no performance problems or chokepoints introduced by the Bosch integration on any part of the VMS system. The scalable nature of the product and the ease of use that comes with a professional grade access control system add benefits to an integrated system on top of the already considerable increased functionality available through the ACM integration. The Bosch Access Professional Edition 3.0 product, is a certified ACM solution. FUNCTIONALITY: Pass Status 22/22 items of functionality were demonstrated without error.
