1 PED Activity Class Credit/Transfer Information This document provides the following information: 1. PED activity class credit information for degrees at SSCC. 2. PED activity class transfer credit information for four year institutions in the state of Alabama.

2 SSCC Information Contact PED Activity Classes AA/AS Degrees Khristy Large, PhD Specialist, Office of Admissions Shelton State Community College requirements for an AA/AS degree. AAS Degrees SSCC will count up to 16 hours of PED classes in Area V that will count towards degree Depending on the program of study, PED classes are counted as electives unless the program of study requires that students must complete certain courses to fulfill the electives requirement in area V. 4 year institution Contact PED Activity Classes Transfer Information Auburn University Dixie Mitchell Assistant II, Registrar Telephone: AU only accepts 4 credit hours in its degree programs for PE classes. Below are the current articulations for the courses SSCC offers. PED 103 = PHED 1340 Weight Training PED 101, 102, 104, 105, 107, 118, 119 are all equivalent to Auburn's PHED Elective credit for 1 hour. While UAH would accept all transfer credit with a grade of D or better, only 64 hours of transfer credit from a 2 year institution can be applied towards degree requirements. Of those degree requirements, Physical Education Activity classes may be counted as listed below: Business 6 hours Engineering 0 hours Liberal Arts 6 hours Nursing individual assessment

Sparkman Registrar Science 4 hours Montevallo accepts SSCC PED courses as transfer credit. Montevallo awards earned hour credit only once for each course. UNA accepts PE courses as transfer credit. However, transfer credit for a PE course cannot be awarded for a duplicated course. For example, if a student completes PE 103 twice, transfer credit is only awarded for one of the courses. PE courses cannot be duplicated. The transfer hours for these PE courses count as elective credit toward a degree at UNA. We do not limit the hours of PE credit that can count toward a Bachelor's degree. For students majoring in the Physical Education fields, certain PE courses are required. The University of South Alabama does accept 100 and 200 level PED courses from a 2 year school as transfer credit. UWA will accept physical education courses offered at Shelton State. If the courses do not

The most credit we can accept from a community college is 60 hours. Also, the student can only get credit for certain courses, like general conditioning, one time. See below.
