1============================================================ Design and Implementation of Integrated Cloud Resource Management Platform Chih-Chung Tsai Tyng-Jiun Kuo Wei-Chih Chen Hsien-Hui Huang Chih-Hsiang Tseng Yu-Hsuan Lin Yen-Cheng Lin Chih-Lung Liao Shun-Hsing Hs Wen-Ta Lien Yi-Tzu Chang Ching-Hui Wang Yung-Yi Hsu Chung-Hua Hu Hey-Chyi Young Kuan-Hsiung Liang NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) defined the five essential characteristics of cloud computing: on-demand self-service, broad network access, resource polling, rapid elasticity, and measured service. For cloud service providers to deliver a variety of cloud services to customers in an automatic and cost-effective manner and also to satisfy the above characteristics, the cloud business and operation support system (BSS/OSS) is indispensable and always plays the key role in the full support of daily cloud service operations and management such as service offering and provisioning, quality assurance, usage metering and billing. In this paper, the design rationales and implementation aspects of the integrated cloud resource management platform are described to show how the platform manages and proactively monitors various kinds of heterogeneous cloud resources such as servers, storages, and network elements in this platform. Some specific operation scenarios regarding fault management and performance management of cloud services are also described to demonstrate the functionalities of this platform in detail. Currently, this platform is

In those business models, the primary consideration for customers and service providers is the security of data in the cloud environment. In order to ensure the data security, we must build a comprehensive mechanism to ensure data integrity, confidentiality and availability. This paper introduces and discusses how to adopt the OAuth(Open Authorization) protocol along with Data Validation and Certification Service to protect the data in the cloud computing environment. This technology allows the Data Validation and Certification Service to access protected resources stored in the cloud storage, and then generates evidence of non-repudiation for the protected resources. With this mechanism, Data Validation and Certification Service can provide data Integrity, confidentiality and availability in the cloud environment.
3 3============================================================ The Research and Development of a Cloud-based Gender Recognition Service Yen- Lin Chiu I-Sheng Kuo Heng-Sung Liu Gwo-Hwa Ju The application of gender recognition is quite broad, such as surveillance system, electronic signage, customer analysis and etc. In customer analysis, the gender recognition system can provide user the number of customers and gender statistical information in each time interval. These significant information can be used not only for products marketing and advertisements broadcast, but also for staff dispatch management. Therefore, many enterprises are dedicated to this research in recent years. In this paper, we propose a cloud-based gender recognition service, which integrates image recognition technology on cloud computing platform for customer analysis. The cloud computing platform features in strong integration flexibility, high scalability and improves the computing power, storage capacity and the quality of service. The proposed gender recognition technology in this paper mainly includes two major modules: people detection and tracking module and gender recognition module. Through these two modules, the system returns the gender recognition result.
4 4============================================================ A Survey on Technological Advancement of Cloud Computing Industry Yao-Hsien Huang Pin-Shu Yang As the impact of cloud computing continues to sweep through global ICT industries, it is already deemed as a key industry by governments around the world. Through strategic alliances and acquisitions, many players in this emerging field are getting ready to develop and deploy their own cloud services and applications. In layman s terms cloud computing is simply networked computing. From computing tasks achieved through multiple communicating computers, to the services provided by remote hosts via network connection, all of these can be regarded as a form of cloud computing. The core concept of cloud computing technology evolves from Distributed Computing and Grid Computing, with its emphasis on accessing remote network computing resources due to the constraint of limited local resources. Ideally users can conduct operations, analysis, real-time access to online services utilizing resources in different countries and places, organized and managed via cloud computing technologies. The idea of cloud service might sound simple, but it inherits the far-reaching effect of Internet. If it is well implemented and put to good use, it will bring forth fundamental change and even major impact to business operations. Currently many companies have already provided a wide range of applications in the cloud, such as various free online applications by Google. This thesis aims to give an overview of the current industrial development of cloud computing, by observing the related activities of the major players such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, Yahoo, Amazon, as well as analyze the evolution of technology and industry trends. In the foreseeable future, we believe traditional information system will transition to cloud computing (service), as cloud computing has invariably become the trend of the coming era.

Due to the enormous business opportunities of cloud computing, many companies or enterprises launched their own cloud services one after another. The main concept of cloud computing is to make a central management of all hardware, including servers, network devices, storage systems and so on. What cloud computing tries to achieve is to make users feel easy and free to access the services by network without considering the location of the resources. No matter what kind of services need to store their own data, so cloud storage is the most basic and important implementation of cloud computing. This paper would introduce the current cloud storage services extensively such as WebHD, Dropbox, enterprise storage service (Safebox and HiNet cloudbox enterprise version) and Amazon S3 services[1]. We would introduce the system architecture and the relative techniques. (Data Replication)

13 13============================================================ High Performance Call Record Inquiry System Based on Cloud Computing Chung Hsin Lee Kang Di Ting Ying Che Chen Shi Xian Tang Ching Ju Kan Pin Yin Wu Chi Hui Feng Various switches will result in different kinds of Call Detail Records (CDRs); for instance, PSTN and GSM switches generate different formats of CDRs. Additionally, various kinds of CDRs are stored and manipulated by different departments in a telecom company. It would be troublesome for users who have to query different departments for the CDR information if telecom company doesn t provide an integrated CDR inquiry platform. Moreover, the CDR inquiry systems that the telecom company provides currently can no longer meet the user requirements because of the revolution of telecom services. In order to trim the operating budget and manpower of the current CDR inquiry systems, we propose the second generation CDR inquiry system, which is named Call Record Inquiry System2.0 (CRIS 2.0). The first generation CDR inquiry systems cannot handle CDR requests simultaneously. In contrast, CRIS 2.0 can process CDR requests with parallelism and can also provide a 24*7 service because it is operated in the cloud environment. The proposed lock mechanism can achieve the load balance between cloud machines and enhance the performance of emergency query. This paper will discuss both software and hardware design concept of the CRIS 2.0 and also the deployment issue in the cloud environment. (Cloud environment)
