15 Program Delivery Format Lots of Flexibility to Accommodate Your Realities Onsite in San Diego; online otherwise Course delivery format is designed to emulate the onsite (San Diego) classroom experience also for the online (distance) students. All course material is made available on an online platform, which supports interactions with faculty and peers. Lectures are pre-recorded in a studio to ensure clear learning objectives and allow each student to absorb the material at her/his own pace before coming to class, onsite or online. Instead of the traditional lecture, class time is used for interactive discussion to drive home the learning objectives. (As a testimonial, the onsite San Diego students often participate in the online class instead, because of the equivalence of the experience and convenience of not commuting.) Course load: Courses are 3 credit hours each 12 credit hours (i.e., 4 courses) is a full-time load for each of the fall and spring semesters. 6 credit hours (i.e., 2 courses) is a full-time load for the summer semester Tuition: $1,546 per credit hour ($4,638 per course)

19 Choosing Between EE and BME Students in both disciplines can take the same courses, since they need access to the same information for a holistic education in wireless health. Students will however follow distinct approaches in putting their education to practice in course projects and, in particular, in the experiential required course R6. Those in electrical engineering will tend to focus more on the technology aspects and those in biomedical engineering on the health related aspects that the technology affords.

22 Master of Science EE or BME Admission Requirements GPA: 3.2+ in a BS in engineering or science, or another suitable background GRE: GRE recommended (not required) for Electrical Engineering (EE) and required (>80 percentile) for Biomedical Engineering (BME). Petition for exclusion based on professional career length will be considered. TOEFL: Waived for students that have completed a degree program where the language of instruction is English or worked in an organization where the official language is English. See the MS brochure for additional information if you do not fit in the foregoing categories. EE and BME Certificate participants who matriculate into the MS program within two years of completion of the Graduate Certificate may transfer their credits of the Certificate courses toward the completion of the respective MS degree requirements.

The Certificate will be awarded after the student completes the three courses with grades of B or better, and completes a graduation application through the School of Graduate Studies. Certificate graduates may matriculate into the MS degree within two years of completion of the Certificate and transfer the three courses toward completion of the MS degree requirement Tuition: $1,546 per credit hour ($4,638 per course)
