3 1 Overview The KonyOne Server is an important component of the KonyOne Platform installation. The KonyOne Server acts as a gateway for KonyOne applications to access the existing services and web sites in your organization. The application functionality developed and generated by the KonyOne Studio is enabled and delivered using the Application Server. The Mobile Web channels are hosted on the Application Server and the Native App binaries are deployed to the server, which can be downloaded to the device. 1.1 KonyOne Server installer for Linux The installer may be used to setup KonyOne Server on the Tomcat or JBoss servers. You can use the following pre-configured install sets for your installation: LITE (This option helps you to setup a development instance with minimal inputs) - This is a basic and default configuration. It is suitable for most of the development and test environments. Database Scripts Only - This configuration is suitable when you want to configure only database schema and scripts. Custom Installation - this configuration allows you to selectively deploy and install the following components along with KonyOne Server: o Admin module - The KonyOne Admin Console runs as a web application, and is used to publish applications or services to the KonyOne Server from KonyOne Studio o Logdaemon this component collects the metrics from the messaging queue and saves the data to the database o Create Database schema this module configures database schemas The selected components are deployed in one of the below topologies: o Basic (Single instance per physical server) o Advanced (Multiple instances per physical server): This configuration is tuned towards a typical production like deployment environment Multiple instances can be deployed at once on a single physical machine Instances share the webapps, lib and the middleware home folders Instances are expected to be accessed only through the load balancer Suitable for a production deployment behind a load balancer Load balancer has to be installed and configured outside the Installer

4 Each install set selects reasonable default settings for the overall configurations based on common KonyOne Server usage scenarios. NOTE: You can setup a new instance using the Installer. The feature to modify/update an existing instance is not available. Installer is built to setup KonyOne Server on a single machine/node. The installer is packaged with all components of KonyOne Server, Tomcat and JBoss servers. 1.2 Silent installation KonyOne Server can also be installed using the Unattended/Silent Installation process. A sample file installer.properties is provided along with the KonyOne Server Installer. You need to update the variables in the properties file based on your requirement. To install KonyOne Server using Unattended/Silent installation, follow these steps: 1. Open Command Prompt and go to the location where the installer is located. 2. Enter the following command: <KonyOneServer-linux GA.bin> -i silent -f <complete path of installer.properties file> 3.
