4 Is the university accredited in USA and Thailand? Yes. While WUTC is fully accredited American university, accredited in the United States by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association, , it is also fully accredited by the Ministry of Education in Thailand. This means that we are legal entity in Thailand, and being supported by Commission of Higher Education in Thailand and by Ministry of University Affairs in Thailand. United States: Webster University is accredited in the United States by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association, , The accreditation, which was awarded in 1925, includes undergraduate and graduate levels at all locations where the University offers programs. Thailand: Webster University in Thailand is an accredited, private university by the Thailand Ministry of Education under Thai law. Austria: Webster University in Vienna is accredited by the Austrian Ministry for Education and Culture as a private university under Austrian law. 5 Where does my degree come from? Regardless of which campus one studies or graduates from, all students receive their diploma and Transcripts from the Webster University St. Louis (USA) campus. This degree is recognized internationally with fully accredited qualification. What language is the medium of instruction? English is the medium of instruction as we are an accredited American University. All students must be fluent in English in order to attend courses at any of Webster s campuses. The Thailand campus also offers intensive EAP courses to students who need extra english preparation before beginning their full-time degree studies. Undergraduate ESL policy: Graduate ESL Policy:

6 What are Webster s English proficiency requirements? For undergraduate program admission, you will need TOEFL score of 550 PBT (Paper Based Test), or 210 CBT (Computer Based Test), or 80 ibt (Internet Based Test) with TWE score of 4.5 or an Academic IELTS of 6.0. For graduate program admission, you will need TOEFL score of 575 PBT (paper based test), or 230 CBT (computer based test), or 89 ibt (internet based test) with TWE score of 5.0 or an Academic IELTS score of 6.5. Exemptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis. The student may request an exemption if: They have been enrolled continuously for the last two years in a full-time high school or university program using English as the medium of instruction in the USA,UK, Ireland, English-speaking provinces of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa. a score of at least 500 on SAT-Verbal, 5 on IB English A1 HL, or at least 4 points on AP English (Applicable for Undergraduate Applicants Only) Who teaches the programs? Webster University faculty members are mainly from North America: however, we are an equal opportunity employer, meaning with no regards to nationality, we hire highly trained and experienced faculty members from Australia, Europe, and other countries. 9 Is Webster University Thailand on the semester or Term system? We have both Semester and Term system at Webster University Thailand. We operate the Undergraduate Program in Semester System and Graduate program in Term System. 10 How long it will take to complete the Undergraduate and Graduate program from Webster University Thailand? How many credits/ subjects students can register per semester and Term? The Undergraduate program requires satisfactory completion of 128 credit hours. The total durations to complete 128 credit hours are 8 semesters (4 years). Summer terms are an optional study period to help progress the academic completion of your program. In one academic year students can complete a maximum of 45 credit hours (15 Courses) at WUT. (Normally, one course is equivalent to 3 credit hours). Classifications of Students in an American Educations System: Freshman: 0 30 Credits Sophomore: Credits (You should decide on a Major at this stage) Junior: Credits Senior: 90 credits and above Total: 128 credits required for the undergraduate degree. In Undergraduate Program International student holding an educational visa to study in Thailand should register for Minimum 4 Courses / 12 credits in Spring & Fall Semesters and Minimum 2 Courses/ 6 Credits in Summer Term. Students can register Maximum 6 Courses/ 18 Credits in Spring & Fall semesters and Maximum 3 Courses/ 9 Credits in summer. Tuition fee for 12 to 18 Credits / 4 to 6 Courses in spring & fall semesters and 6 to 9 credits / 2 to 3 courses in Summer term is under the same tuition rate but if the student planning to register for less than 12 Credits/ 4 Courses or more than 18 Credits/ 6 Courses in Fall & spring semester or less than 6 credits/ 2 courses or more than 9 credits /3 courses in summer should inform the finance and registrations department prior to registrations. The Graduate program requires satisfactory completion 36 credit hours / 12 courses. The total durations to complete 36 credit hours/ 12 courses are 6 terms (15 Months). In one academic year students can complete a maximum of 30 credit hours (10 Courses) at WUT. Students who require prerequisite courses and intended for emphasis may have to complete more than 36, 42, or 48 credit hours. The durations of the program will be more in this case.

11 In Graduate Program International student holding an educational visa to study in Thailand should register for Minimum 2 Courses / 6 credits in each term. Student planning to take more or less than 2 courses/ 6 credits in a term should contact the department head. ** Thai Citizens and Work visa holders can take one course per term. ** Tuition fee for graduate program is charged per course. Can I transfer to Webster University? How many semester credit hours students can transfer from other colleges or universities toward a Webster University degree? YES. Each year Webster welcomes dozens of transfer students from public as well as private institutions. Please note that only courses taken at accredited universities (accredited by the Ministry of Education in your country) are eligible for transfer credit. Toward an undergraduate degree, Webster will accept up to 98 semester credit hours from appropriately accredited institutions, as well as from standardized tests such as CLEP, DANTES, ACT-PEP, or ADVANCED PLACEMENT. Webster University accepts a maximum of 64 credit hours from any combination of following: Community colleges, unless the credits are part of a successfully completed associate s degree program from a regionally accredited institutions. Credit hours included in the 32 credit hour maximum awarded for first year (Freshman) work earned through any combination of international Baccalaureate, Advanced placement, CLEP General Exams, and other designated 13th year programs normally completed prior to enrollment at the University.

12 Toward a graduate degree, all transfer credits must have been completed at a regionally accredited college or university and must conform to Webster University guidelines. You are limited to a maximum of 12 semester credit hours towards an MA degree or 9 towards the MBA. Credits may also be transferred from training programs which have been evaluated by the American Council on Education. See the University catalog or an Academic Advisor for more detailed information on transfer policies. Webster University accepts the Military training credits (Smart Transcripts). UndergraduateTransfer: GraduateTransfer: Can I apply for undergraduate (bachelor s degree), if I am still in high School and did not graduate yet? YES, Students in the final year of High school can apply for admissions in advance with their predicated grades provided from the highscool. This kind of student s admissions acceptance will be provisional upon providing a final original transcript from the High school before the arrival to the University. Can I apply for Graduate (master s degree), if I am still in college/ University and did not graduate yet? YES, Students in the final year of college can apply for admissions in advance with their incomplete bachelor s degree transcripts and pending coursework. This kind of student s admissions acceptance will be provisional upon providing a final original transcript from the college or university before the arrival to the University.

13 If I have studies IB or A-levels can I get advanced placement? Yes, Webster will evaluate and award up to 32 credit hours for IB, AP, and A-levels Please Visit this Link: Do you offer scholarships or grants? We currently have a limited number of scholarship awards that students can apply for that cover up to a certain level of tuition only. If a student is seeking a maximum award they must submit in writing the reasons why they think they are eligible for such an award to be offered. Scholarships are based upon grades, work experience, extra-curricular activities, interviews (if applicable), and financial need. 14 Do you offer Financial Aid/ GI Bill at the Thailand campus? Webster University Thailand is eligible for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid - School code is ) and GI Bill (Zip code: 63101) for both Graduate and Undergraduate Program. If you wish to apply for Federal Student Aid / GI Bill you must follow the Admissions procedures precisely in order to receive an award. Student loan / GI Bill applications are accepted throughout the academic year. However, early application is encouraged. FAFSA / GI Bill applications for Webster Thailand are coordinated through our Admissions Counselor Mr. Subas Thapa. In order to qualify for FAFSA / GI Bill at Webster University, students must first be accepted for admission to Webster University Thailand. ** The yellow ribbon only applies to students who are 100% eligible for the post 9/11. ** For the FAFSA and GI Bill students, we wait for the financial aid/ VA disbursement for the Tuition Payments. Normally, disbursement happens during the fourth to sixth week of the Semester or term. How do I qualify for admission to Webster? All interested students must complete the application process to Webster and meet Webster s minimum academic and English language skills requirements. In order to qualify for a Webster s Bachelor degree, you must possess a completed high school degree; to apply for a Master s degree you should possess a Bachelor Degree from an accredited university (accredited by the Ministry of Education in your country). You can also transfer to Webster University from another accredited university.

15 What are the list of required documents for Undergraduate and Graduate admissions at Webster University Thailand? These are the following documents you need to submit in order to complete your Undergraduate Applications: A completed Applications form Paper Applications: Download the form, print it out, fill in the form, scan it and send it to us as attachment. Online Applications: Applications fee not required. Copy of Passport. Two Letters of recommendation from your teacher, counselor or employer. Recommendations form: Essay : ( 300 to 500 Words under any topic) English Proficiency: TOEFL or an Academic IELTS score A Secondary/High School Transcript.

17 Do I need an undergraduate degree to be eligible for the MBA program? Yes, all students must complete an undergraduate degree in order to be eligible for MBA and Master Programs. Can I study few courses at Webster University Thailand or Just study for a semester? Is it possible for Both Graduate and Undergraduate Program? What are the criteria and Limitations? Yes, Prospective students who do not plan to complete a degree from Webster or want to study only for the short period of time is possible at Webster University Thailand. We call students with such intentions as a Non- Degree student (Not degree seeking students). YES, Webster University has Non-Degree programs for both undergraduate and graduate levels. Non-degree candidates seeking access to Undergraduate or graduate level coursework must satisfy the minimum criteria for the admissions asked by the admissions counselor. A student may enroll as a non-degree student for up to 30 Credit Hours for Undergraduate studies and 6 credit hours for Graduate Studies. Please Visit this Link:

18 When should I apply? For both undergraduate students and graduate students, we offer four possible Starting points in one academic year. Starting Points for Graduate Applicants: Fall I (Mid August Intake) Spring I (Mid January Intake) Spring II (Mid March Intake) Summer (Late May Intake) Starting Points for Undergraduate Applicants: Fall semester (Mid August Intake) Spring Semester (Mid January Intake) Spring II Quick Start (Mid March Intake) Summer (Late May Intake) If you are considering coming Fall Semester/ Fall I, then you should apply at least Four Weeks before the fall semester/ Fall I starts. When will I know whether or not I am accepted? Students will be notified of their acceptance within two weeks of completing his/her application, meaning that the application and all supporting documents and results have been submitted.

19 Can I transfer from one campus to another Webster campus for a similar program? Is it possible to transfer in temporary and permanent basis? Is it possible to get FREE AIRFARE? Yes, after successfully completing fifteen credit hours as an undergraduate student or nine credit hours as a graduate student at Webster University Thailand, the student is eligible to transfer to St. Louis, Missouri (USA) or any Webster network campuses in the USA as well as in Europe and Asia; Geneva (Switzerland); Vienna (Austria); Leiden (Netherlands); or in Regents College in London (England). All of Webster s campuses are on the same semester timetable, teach the same curriculum, and use English as a medium of teaching, so it is very easy to transfer between campuses. The visa, however, cannot be guaranteed. Also, students must be in good academic and financial standing with the University for Site Transfer Approval to be granted. Student status should not be conditional while transferring to other campus. 20 How many exemptions will I get with my qualification? In the American system, the word exemption usually means that the students, based on past qualifications such as test scores or classes previously taken, do not have to take a specific class. When referring to using past university/college classes to substitute for the same class at another institution, we use the word transfer course or transfer credit. To transfer credits to Webster University, a student must have a 2.5 GPA (Grade Point Average) on a 4.0 scale for each class he/she wishes to transfer. If grades have not been assigned for the course, or if the coursework was from a non-american institution, we will need to evaluate the transcript in our Office of Admissions and the Registrar at the St. Louis campus before how many credits can be transferred. Student with less than 2.5 but more than 2.0 GPA can be considered in a conditional basis. Students with less than 2.0 GPA should consult with academic counselor about the options. Where do your students come from? Webster University Thailand has diverse international student body: over 57 different nationalities are represented at Webster University Thailand. Approximately 10% of the students are Thai; the rest of the student body is comprised of Indonesian, Vietnamese, Indian, Nepalese, Myanmar, Bhutanese as well as American, Canadian, South American, German, Scandinavian, Australian and African students. We also receive study abroad students, exchange students and special program students from America, Germany, Korea, China and Vietnam each semester. What are the facilities like at Webster University Thailand- Bangkok Campus? Webster University s Bangkok Academic Center is conveniently located in the commercial heart of Bangkok near the Chidlom BTS station. The Center contains administrative offices, classrooms, and a library. Webster s MBA program is offered at the Bangkok Center along with Masters of International Relations and Masters of Media Communications.

21 What are the facilities like at Webster University Thailand Hua-Hin Campus? The University is located in amazing Thailand on a site of about 60 acres (132 rai): our campus provides wireless internet connection throughout the campus as well as hard-line connections are available in many classrooms.. The main campus offers undergraduate level courses The facility includes: A library that is fully supported by wireless internet connection, a gymnasium/sports center, tennis courts, basketball court, and football field, student lounge, a cafeteria with Thai, Indian, European and vegetarian food, a library/computer resource center, computer labs with internet facility, media lab and dark room, IT lab, small auditorium. What kind of accommodation is available in Bangkok? Webster University does not own its own housing or dormitory in Bangkok. However, we have identified a variety of options for you to be able to lease independently. 22 What kind of accommodation is available in Hua-Hin? Can I Stay off-campus Housing? Students at Webster-Thailand have several options regarding housing. The university maintains student housing at two beachfront condominium complexes and one Apartment on the outskirts of Hua Hin. The school provides tour-bus transportation to and from the campus and also to and from Hua Hin town and the main shopping center. Students can also arrange to rent housing in Hua Hin town. VIP condo-chain Cha-am (Condominium Style) Student housing is available at V.I.P Condo Chain located in Cha-Am right on the beach overlooking Cha-Am and Hua-Hin. All rooms are furnished. It has a swimming pool and school bus runs several times every day between the housing and the university campus and the city of Hua-Hin. Most of the units have a refrigerator, television, study table and chair, sofa and air-conditioning provided. Students are responsible for their own electricity, phone and water bills. Two students typically share a room. Sala Hua Hin (Service Apartment) This is a brand new serviced apartment and resort close to the beach-front in Hua Hin. At the Sala Hua Hin, students can enjoy rooms of approximately sqm. This brand new facility offers fabulous amenities and facilities as well. Rooms boast sea, mountain or pool views. And apart from being fully furnished with all that you need, every room comes equipped with 32 LCD TVs, Cable TV, Phone connections, fridges and water heaters. 23 Students can stay off-campus housing if they living with their family in Hua-Hin/ Cha-am or the student are above 18 years old (Should get the prior approval from Admissions department for the off-campus housing.) Is Hua-Hin a good place for a university? The Hua-Hin/Cha-am area is one of the safest places in Thailand: This is where Thai families come so they can get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The advantages of living and studying in Hua-Hin are: 1. Peaceful beach side resort town that boast international travelers: Hua-Hin/Cha-Am has been well known to Thais and to European tourists for its welcoming communities and visitor friendly local residence. Yet, the town boasts a wide-array of international cuisines, a few treasured old palaces, beautiful national parks and calm Buddhist temples and retreats. 2. Hua-Hin/Cha-Am is close to Bangkok and many students visit Bangkok during the weekends for entertainment and special shopping. Students at Webster University Thailand agree that living and studying in Hua-Hin/Cha-Am makes them focus more on study during the week. However, when weekend hits, most students enjoy time in Bangkok. 3. Crime is not tolerated in this region because it is the location of one of the Royal Palaces. 24 How do I get a Student Visa for Thailand? When your application is accepted by Webster University Thailand, we send you an offer of admissions including visa letter for the Royal Thai embassy about your status as a student, which you can use at a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate close to your place to get the proper student visa, Known as Non-Immigrant ED Visa Educational Visa. Normally, a student visa application takes 4 to 5 working days. The Student Visa issued by the Thai embassy or consulate abroad is only valid for 90 days after your arrival to Thailand. After registration and payment of fees at Webster University Thailand, after 60 days of arrival to Thailand our Visa officer will take you to the Immigrations office in Thailand to extend your visa for one year. Student visa in Thailand can be extend to maximum one year but we help the students to extend visa until the students completes the program. Note: Immigration Fee, Re-entry cost, Visa Extension and other fees related to visa will have to be paid by the student at the Royal Thai Immigration Office as and when needed.
