2 Half-hourly electricity We make it really easy to understand the complex world of half-hourly electricity. In fact, this year we've secured live contracts for businesses with a combined consumption of more than 135 million kwhs. Our expert, no-hassle service is tailored to you - so you'll always get the best deal at the right price for your business. We offer fully-fixed, fully-inclusive contracts from one to five years, through to full pass-through month-ahead electricity purchasing. Here's what we'll do for you: Use our expert knowledge to secure the best bespoke quotes for your business. Gather like-for-like quotes from suppliers, so you know exactly what you're paying for. Before we send your quotes to you, we'll always make sure they're clear and easy to understand. Make recommendations based on a combination of price, contract terms and standard of service. Provide you with a personal account manager to take care of any questions or queries you have. 3 How half-hourly electricity procurement works As you probably know, if the meter point administration number (MPAN) on your bill starts with 00, it means your meter takes readings every 30 minutes and sends the data back to your supplier via an external meter operator contract (MOP) and data collection contract. We've provided you with all the information you need to know about switching your half-hourly electricity. Here's how it works: First, we'll you a letter of authority template (LOA) that you'll need to print off, sign and send back to us. This document allows us to gather information - but not make decisions - on your behalf. It's a good idea to get this back to us quickly so that we can get started. It can take up to three working days for us to receive the half-hourly data from your current supplier. Once we have it, we'll then tender your details to our supplier panel. We'll also review your current meter operator contract. If it's due to expire or you're paying a monthly fee for it through your supplier, we'll set you up with a brand new one Next, we'll need to talk to your current supplier to get an idea of your electricity consumption over the last twelve months. This is so new suppliers can provide you with accurate prices based on your usage. As soon as we receive the quotes - a process that usually takes five working days - we'll present them to you on a like-for-like basis. We'll then guide you through your options and help you to make a decision. Your account manager will be on hand for the length of your contract to take care of any questions, queries or concerns you might have. We'll also be in touch when it's time to renew to keep saving your business time, money and hassle.
4 Large gas usage If your annual consumption of gas is equal to or more than 500,000 kwhs and you're looking for a better deal, you're in good hands with Make It Cheaper. We'll use our panel of vetted suppliers to find you great rates and save you hours of shopping around, which means you can say goodbye to hassle and stress. Your dedicated account manager will do all of the hard work for you. So, how does it work? The first step will be to have a chat with us, so we can get an idea of your business needs and the kind of service you need from a supplier. We'll consult our gas partners and gather together the best bespoke quotes we can find. We'll then make sure they are easy to understand and jargon-free. We'll present you with our recommendations and leave you to pick a quote you like. When you're ready, we'll guide you through the supplier's terms and conditions. We'll take care of setting up your new contract and provide you with any support you need until it's time to renew - and then we'll do it all again. Our gas partners
5 Multi-site account management Choosing Make It Cheaper to look after your energy will be the best business decision you'll make all year. If you have more than one meter on multiple sites, your account manager will take care of them for you. When it's time to renew, our personalised service ensures that you don t rollover onto more expensive rates. How can we make it even easier for you to run your business? Lots of energy bills One energy bill Less effort, more time, more money One of our dedicated account managers will be able to answer your questions or queries whenever you need it. One person, one supplier, one bill. We're in it for the long-haul, so we'll be in touch when it's time to renew and make sure you don't accidently miss a meter. This means you won't roll over on to rates that cost you more money. Some of the suppliers we work with install smart meters, saving you the hassle of having to read them yourself. Accurate readings mean no credit or debit with suppliers. New sites in the future? No problem. Your account manager can easily add new meters to your combined contract, keeping stress to a minimum. Accounting and budgeting will be straightforward. For example, you could choose to guard against price rises by putting all your meters on a two-year, fixed rate contract. Your bill will usually be the same whether you pay by BACS or Direct Debit. Your supplier will categorise you as a corporate client and offer more flexibility. Our gas and electricity partners
6 Siteworks Whether your business needs a new gas or electricity meter, or a completely new gas or electricity service, Make It Cheaper's siteworks team can help. You will need siteworks if: You've recently moved into a brand new building. You've had a service upgrade to increase or decrease the load of energy. You need a gas connection in a premises that has never had one, or the existing service is dead. How our service works: New meters: gas and electricity First, you'll need to have a chat with your Make It Cheaper account manager so they can determine what type of equipment you will need. Maybe you'll have a history of usage from a previous site operating in a similar way. In order for our panel of suppliers to provide you with accurate quotes, we'll also need to gather the following information from you. For gas meters: meter point reference number (MPRN), maximum hourly load and whether a meter type has been advised. For electricity meters: meter point administration number (MPAN), phase type and whether a meter type has been advised. We'll then tender this information to our most competitive suppliers' siteworks teams and provide you with quotes within 48 hours. Our next step will be to help you pick the right quote for your business needs, highlighting differences between suppliers, contract type and length and customer service levels. Throughout this process, we promise to stay in touch and keep you updated on everything you need to know, ensuring your new meter installation is as smooth and speedy as possible. New service: gas and electricity The first step will be to tell your account manager how you intend to use your new connection so that they can identify the pipe or cable capacity you'll need. For a new gas service, a GT1 test will need to be carried out on any existing pipes to determine whether they are live or dead. The test will also check if a completely new service needs installing or if the loading needs to be increased. This does not apply to new electricity cable installations. Next, we'll provide you with an ordinance survey map. You'll need to mark the exact location of the proposed meter and then send it back to us. We'll then pass your meter requirements to our panel of vetted suppliers. It usually takes fifteen days for suppliers to generate quotes for a new service as lots of factors are taken into consideration, including the size of pipes or cables, location and the distance from the road to the building. If you have any questions about this part of the process, talk to your account manager who will be happy to help. Once you've accepted your chosen supplier's quote, it'll take around six weeks for your new service to be installed. Please keep in mind that installation times can vary depending on your circumstances, but we'll make life easy by keeping you regularly updated.
