2 How did our business start? Biri Publications started life more than 30 years ago as a publisher, primarily of greetings cards. Today, we are the leading publisher for all your wrapping paper, partygoods and small gifts. The company began in Oudezijds Kolk at the heart of old Amsterdam with 11 employees. That number has since grown to 40 and we have relocated to Uithoorn. Biri was founded by Bibette and Rick van Nispen. In 2000, Biri was taken over by the brothers Joeri and Misja Zwerver. What do we stand for? How do we work? We distinguish ourselves within the market through the breadth that we aim to achieve within our product range. But what really makes us stand out is probably the way in which we view our products. Our designs are always that little bit more original and more exceptional, we always aim to achieve the best quality and lowest prices and we address our customers by name rather than by their customer number. Our aim is to ensure that our product range makes life more fun for retailers and consumers alike: that is our vision! Ultimately, the products we sell are all about emotions. As a niche player, we are also able to keep a close eye on trends and needs and to create products and designs that are often at the cutting edge. This is why our slogan is Create to innovate. Every day, we design, purchase and transport all of our products before distributing them. This ensures that we remain on trend as far as possible and can guarantee quality. A nationwide sales team enables us to offer our product range to both larger and smaller retailers. Of course, Biri Publications also offers its customers the opportunity to place their orders through the webshop. In addition, we also design, purchase and distribute the entire HEMA greeting card collection. Our Full Service Merchandising team serves the HEMA branches in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and, more recently, also in France. Being proactive and continually monitoring at product range and store level is something we do on a daily basis: it is the only way in which a publisher can effectively respond to the needs of consumers and retailers.

3 What do we offer our customers? We offer products that make life more fun and bring a smile to everyone s face. We are passionate and committed in our desire to produce the ultimate product every day: not only do we believe it should be that little bit more original, we also aim to avoid going too far and alienating our retailers or consumers. The Biri signature is clearly recognisable in every product group. In our greeting card range, we always try to achieve just the right balance between technology, style and price. This approach has enabled us to develop a highly comprehensive collection, with less of the same and more of the exceptional! We cover every taste and style without becoming repetitive. Our partygoods product group is sure to bring cheer to retailers and consumers alike and especially from 2014! This is because we have developed a completely new party collection that incorporates new styles and products that have never before been offered in these quantities at competitive prices. Our wrapping paper is an area that continues to grow fast. In addition to rolls of wrapping paper for use on the counter, we also design and produce gift packs and consumer rolls presented in a display. We lovingly design a new collection several times every year and are major suppliers of Christmas wrapping paper here in the Netherlands. For paper, quality is extremely important, but originality matters too. By alternating between humorous photography and high-end designs, we ensure we can serve everyone at the lowest prices. Our gifts product group is set to continue to grow in the future. Under the name Mi&Joe, we currently market jewellery, serving both young and old, as well as men and women in search of a great wristwatch, key-ring or chain in smartly designed gift packaging. 4 Are we doing the right thing? At Biri Publications we aim to produce designs and products that make the lives of retailers and consumers more fun. But we also aim to make life on Earth even better! In other words, we always try to find alternatives that are better for the environment or solutions that are more sustainable. For example, we have been using FSC-hallmarked paper for many years; we only manufacture using companies that are WSCI-certified; and we are increasingly looking for production countries that share our vision of manufacturing.
