The core curriculum of the General Psychology program is designed to provide the entry-level graduate student with a solid grounding in the basic science foundations of psychology. Acquire a broad body of knowledge in theories of psychology Implement research methodologies in order to carry out in-depth, ethical investigation of relevant topics Offers a wide selection of other optional topics, both theory and pragmatic, covering the entire spectrum Duration of the course Two years external, distance learning or online education (24months) Requirement for Admission / 4 years of formal study A three year graduate degree in psychology or related subjects or two years post graduate degree in psychology or allied subjects. Other appropriately qualified/experienced applicants with a science or social science or arts background will be considered for Integrated Masters Course. Learning Highlights Will be acquiring in depth knowledge about psychology concepts Will be introduced to various fields of psychology Optional papers to master the required expertise Key Benefits of the course Psychology is a field that bridges the humanities, the social sciences, and the natural sciences. At IHMH, the psychology master emphasizes the scientific study of behavior while recognizing the role that psychology can play. Page 2
3 The curriculum focuses on understanding both normal and atypical behavior. Active learning is emphasized with many opportunities for internships and independent research. In general, students are stimulated to think critically and communicate ideas clearly so they can better understand themselves and others. Will train the student from the practitioner s point of view. Course Structure Course contains twelve modules Four compulsory modules Six optional modules One pragmatic module One dissertation at the end of the course All the modules will have two months time to complete The dissertation will have two months time to complete and will be done at the end of the course Books and other required resources materials will be sent to you well before the start of the concerned paper Resource materials and books will be sent either as hard copies or soft copies depending up on the guide s instruction and availability A guide will be allotted and he/ she will be supporting the student in completing each paper/ module and the dissertation successfully Dissertation can be done as an empirical data study or a theoretical study.
