1 Women s & Children s Services Childbirth Center
2 During Your Stay Norwalk Hospital Childbirth Center The health, well-being and comfort of you and your new baby are our first priorities at the Childbirth Center. Our modern, comfortable, home like Center offers state-of-the-art medical technology and hotel-style amenities, including private baths and showers, flat-screen TVs, whirlpool tubs, wireless internet access and a family lounge. Specially prepared meals from our chef include many new and delicious meal choices and a private celebration brunch for two before discharge. The Hospital s obstetricians, nurse midwives and maternity staff practice a family-centered approach to care, which includes you and your partner in decision-making. This practice has been shown to increase patient satisfaction, resulting in a more joyous birthing experience for you and your loved ones. Below are some of the additional amenities and programs the Childbirth Center offers during your stay with us. Newborn Photography Share the joy with your family through our newborn photography service. Post your new baby s pictures on a secure, personal PIN ID-prompted website, so family and friends anywhere in the world can view them while you re still in the hospital. Complimentary Massage Therapy A wonderful way to relax after the birth of your baby, we offer new moms a complimentary 15-minute massage therapy session by a licensed massage therapist. Celebration Brunch for Two Prior to going home, mom and dad (or guest of choice) may order a special brunch to be delivered to their room on the day of their choosing. Served with linen napkins, china and champagne flutes, this elegant meal gives new parents a few private moments before going home with their new baby.

5 Support Services Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy Pelvic floor muscles lie between the pubic bone and tailbone; these muscles are responsible for bladder and bowel control as well as sexual functioning. When these muscles malfunction, they can cause pain and dysfunction of the bladder, bowel and genitals. Our pelvic health therapist has specific training in pelvic health therapy. She helps patients get relief from the following conditions: Urinary incontinence Pregnancy-related pelvic pain Pain during intercourse Interstitial cystitis Pain after hysterectomy or other abdominal surgeries Muscle spasms Joint laxity Postpartum needs Most insurance companies cover pelvic health therapy as part of physical therapy services.
