5 This greatly expanded University, serving record enrollments, offers tuition-free education to nearly six in 10 fulltime undergraduates thanks to federal, state and CUNY financial aid. In contrast to the crushing debt other students typically carry at many public and private institutions, 85 percent of CUNY s full-time students are student loan debt free.

8 CUNY Justice Academy The CJA is a unique transfer focused collaboration that links selected associate degree programs at six City University of New York (CUNY) Community Colleges to baccalaureate degree programs at John Jay College of Criminal Justice

9 CUNY Justice Academy John Jay College of Criminal Justice decided to phase out its associates degree programs. Many students still needed a way to enter the senior college since not all students would be accepted from their freshman year.

13 Criminal Justice Major The Criminal Justice major provides the student with opportunities to study many facets of the criminal justice system. If he/she is planning to attend graduate or professional school or pursue a career in law enforcement, judicial or correctional agencies, this major is for him/her.

14 Science for Forensics The major in Forensic Science provides academic and professional training for work in forensic science laboratories. If the student is planning to pursue a career as a research scientist, teacher or medical professional, this major is designed for him/her.

16 Forensic Financial Analysis The major in Forensic Financial Analysis combines coursework in accounting and economics with training in the tools and techniques used to detect and prevent fraud. If the student is interested in a career in the anti-fraud community, whether in the private sector or with government, this program can give him/her a unique marketability to employers.

25 Second Chance Policy If there is a former John Jay student, who left John Jay on academic probation or as the result of an academic dismissal, he/she is subject to the Second Chance Policy. This policy was put in place to ensure that the student succeed at John Jay if the student decide to return. It allows the student to have his/her prior John Jay GPA erased provided they met certain criteria's.

26 Second Chance Policy Criteria Completed at least 30 credits at the community college and Earned a GPA of at least 2.50 and Received an associate degree from a CUNY Justice Academy Program

27 Guaranteed admission 1. Graduate with an associate s degree in CRJ, FOS, FFA at a participating community college; 2. Meet program gpa; 3. Be skills proficient in a college level English and math class.
