1 Provision of employee benefits Respondents were asked to identify which benefits they provided or offered to their employees. Once selected, to provide a greater depth of detail, additional information was provided and is discussed further below. n Overall, the most common entitlement was the provision of communication/it devices and vehicle benefits (79.5% respectively). Learning and development benefits (69.2%) and flexible working arrangements (67.3%) were also provided by the majority of organisations. Communication/IT devices Vehicle Learning and development Flexible working arrangements Health and wellbeing programs Superannuation above SGC Insurances Company paid parental leave Additional unpaid leave Additional paid leave None of the above Child care n = 156 Vehicle benefits The majority of respondents (79.5%) provided some type of vehicle benefit to at least part of their workforce. A fully maintained vehicle or vehicle allowance was provided by 75.6% of respondents whilst 3.1% of respondents either provided vehicle parking or a vehicle parking allowance. By employee group, whilst the provision of a vehicle or vehicle allowance was very much dependent on the level of employee, vehicle parking is provided more consistently across the entire workforce. The provision of a vehicle or vehicle allowance by organisation turnover or industry sector produced no discernible trends. However, the larger the organisation by turnover the more likely car parking was to be offered. Vehicle parking/parking allowance Fully maintained vehicle/vehicle allowance Provided by organisations 3.1% Doesn't Provide 24.4% Not provided by organisations 69.9% Provides Fully Maintained car 75.6% n = 17 = 156 The Australian Industry Group Salary & Benefits Survey Report 214 Survey Analysis & Overview 5

When considering the provision of communication and IT across the workforce, mobile phones and laptop computers were provided fairly consistently to senior executives, management and salaried employees. Tablet computers, however, were largely only provided to senior executives (23.7%), with 18.6% of respondents providing a tablet device to senior management and this dropping to.3% and 5.8% for other management and salaried employees respectively Mobile phone Laptop computer Tablet computer n = Survey Analysis & Overview The Australian Industry Group Salary & Benefits Survey Report 214
3 Learning and development Fully paid course fees were the most common learning and development benefit provided by organisations with all learning and development benefits being provided fairly consistently across the workforce. Whilst paid course fees are provided consistently across all sizes of organisations, paid and unpaid study leave was far more likely to be provided by larger organisations. Learning & Development (%) Senior executive Senior management management Salaried Trade Non-trade Fully paid course fees Subsidised course fees Paid study leave Unpaid study leave Paid and unpaid study leave offered by organisation turnover up to $5m $5-2m $21-5m $51-m $1m-25m $251m-5m $51m+ Paid study leave (%) Unpaid study leave (%) n = 156 The Australian Industry Group Salary & Benefits Survey Report 214 Survey Analysis & Overview 7
4 Flexible working arrangements The flexible working arrangements most likely to be offered by organisations were flexible start and finish times (59.6%), with the least utilised being job share (%). When analysing the offer of flexible working arrangements across employee groups, salaried staff are the section of the workforce most likely to benefit from this, with lieu time and the ability to work a shorter full-time week applied fairly equal across all employee groups. When considering the impact of the size of an organisation by turnover on the offering of flexible working, overall, the smaller the company the less likely flexible working arrangements were offered. However, only 12.5 with turnover of $51m+ offered employees the ability to work a full-time shorter week. Flexible start/finish times 59.6 Part-time work 46.8 Work from home 46.8 Lieu time accrual/flexitime 37.8 Ability to work a fulltime-shorter week Job share n = 156 Flexible work offered across employee groups Senior executive Senior management management Salaried Trade Non-trade Work from home Flexible start/finish times Lieu time accrual/ Flexitime Ability to work a full-time shorter week Part-time work Job share n = Survey Analysis & Overview The Australian Industry Group Salary & Benefits Survey Report 214

The most common insurance to be offered by organisations was income protection/salary continuance insurance, although the percentage of total respondents offering this benefit was still relatively low at 16.7%. The provision of private health insurance was the least popular insurance to be offered with only 7.7 offering this. Of the '' types of insurances provided, the most common was comprehensive travel insurance and vehicle accident insurance. When considering the differences between the employee groups in the offering of insurance benefits these were more likely to be offered based on the seniority of the group.
