However, despite the enormous potential for expanding market share and revenue, mobile network operators (MNOs) can sometimes encounter network capacity strain that is difficult to camouflage in such a highvisibility medium. For example, when customer traffic peaks and generates infrastructure bottlenecks, videos frequently stall and rebuffer during viewing, which significantly affects the quality of the user experience. To successfully retain customers, it is vital for MNOs to deploy new technologies that can optimize video content delivery and manage spikes in web traffic across mobile networks. To help MNOs conform to telecommunications industry standards, the IBM HT chassis supports a wide selection of processor technologies and operating systems and is certified as NEBS-compliant. 3

4 Increases network capacity up to 50 percent By supporting best-in-class optimization of video, audio, web, application and software download traffic in MNO deployments, the Unison Platform has been shown to increase available network capacity by 30 to 50 percent, while dramatically improving performance. This results in reduced stalling of video and faster downloads of web pages, which in turn enables operators to differentiate their networks, making them faster and more efficient. Bytemobile s video optimization capabilities reduce mobile data traffic by 40 to 50 percent, freeing up valuable capacity while providing an improved user experience and faster access to multimedia content, says Llevano.
