1 May, 2009 Status: Beta IPmux-155L Version 1.0B Introduction IPmux -155L is high-capacity pseudowire gateway, transporting TDM traffic over packet-switched networks in a compact 1U, 19-inch enclosure. This is achieved by converting TDM data streams coming from the TDM ports into packets transported over the PSN. The unit transports a fully populated STM-1 stream over a packetswitched network, and aggregates up to 32 Fast Ethernet interfaces into 2 or 4 Gigabit Ethernet links. The unit is ideally located at large customer sites, points of presence (POPs), and central offices of carriers wishing to transport a large capacity of TDM traffic over packet-switched and TDM networks. IPmux-155L introduces TDM pseudowire modules featuring the RAD multistandard TDM pseudowire ASIC processor, which supports TDMoIP, and SAToP. The current version supports unframed mode only. Typical Applications The unit is used in the following applications: Aggregating traffic from remote pseudowire devices, such as IPmux-4L or IPmux-2L, at a small PoP or CO, while eliminating the need for an additional Ethernet switch Transporting STM-1 traffic over PSN, saving TDM leased-line cost Aggregation point for data/voice services initiated by remote pseudo-wire based data/voice CPEs. At the aggregation point, the voice is routed towards the PSTN over an STM-1 protected link, while data is routed towards the ISP over a GbE protected link.

3 General Description 1U, 19 modular enclosure Redundant AC /DC power supplies and fans redundant STM-1, line protection with less than 50 ms restoration time of service in case of link faults Up to four Gigabit Ethernet ports with traffic protection 802.3ad Up to 32 Fast Ethernet user ports, copper or fiber. IPmux-155L includes an internal bridge operating in VLAN-aware and VLANunaware modes. VLAN stacking can be used for traffic separation between different users or services by defining a service provider VLAN ID per customer or service. When VLAN stacking is used, a service provider VLAN tag is added to the user traffic and removed from network traffic. Both service provider VLAN ID and service provider VLAN priority can be defined. User traffic can be queued and prioritized according to VLAN priority and ToS/Diffserv. Ingress and egress rate can be limited per user and network ports. The unit provides port-based QoS. The management traffic between the IPmux-155L and remote CPE can be separated from user data by VLAN tagging User interface is menu-based (no CLI support).
