GENERAL 1. The following changes and/or additions to the plans and specifications are hereby made part of the same and are incorporated in full as part of the Contract Documents. 2. Bidders shall acknowledge on their bid the receipt of this addendum. B. SPECIFICATIONS 1. Add the Attached Advertisement for Bidder to Register and Pre-Qualify to the Contract Documents and modify as follows: C. Bids by Pre-Qualified Contractor Bidders; Documents: a. Delete the following: pre-qualified prime contractor bidders may obtain plans/specifications from the Architect upon deposit of $ per set. Plans/Specifications will be shipped upon return of the documents in reusable condition within ten (10) days after the bid opening. Replace with the following: Pre-Qualified Prime Contractor Bidders may obtain plans/specifications from the Auburn University website or may purchase plans/specifications from Auburn Reprographics or Alabama Graphics in Montgomery, ph Purchase of any partial sets of plans/specifications shall not relieve the contractor for responsibility of the requirements of the entire set of plans and specifications. Plans and specifications are complimentary one to the other.

Time of Completion No additional calendar days will be added to the contract if any or all of the Add Alternates are accepted. b. 17. Omitted Delete Omitted and Rain Day Classification shall be Class III, See Supplemental General Conditions, D. Article 23, Delays: 3. Technical Specifications a. Section Mortar 1. Scope: Delete the following in the first sentence: Conference Building and all Handicapped Ramps and Replace with the following: all new masonry work at Pebble Hill and paved areas are included in this Section. Existing masonry repointing mortar at Pebble Hill is not included in this Section. b. Section Historic Mortar A. General, 2. Scope of Work: This work applies to Add Alternate No. One. c. Section Masonry Re-Pointing and Cleaning A. General, 2. Scope of Work: This Work is in Add Alternate No. One and includes all existing piers and chimneys scheduled to remain at Pebble Hill except as noted above at 2 front porch piers, 6 rear porch piers and interior fireboxes and hearths. d. Section Vapor Barrier B. Materials and Installation, 1. Delete the following: In all crawlspaces under the existing and new buildings, install one layer of 6 mil visqueen over a layer of sand. Replace with the following: In Add Alternate No. Two, install one layer of 6 mil visqueen in all crawlspaces. Install over a leveling layer of sand as required. Page 2

Scope: In Add Alternate No. Two install in crawlspaces of existing building and in all attics at existing building attached directly to the underside of roof decking and install in all new walls. 2. D. Sheet Thermal and Moisture Protection, 2. Material: Coordinate with Section Rough Carpentry, 3.8 Weather Barrier. 3. E. Blown-In Insulation, 1. Application: In Add Alternate No. Two apply over ceilings at Pebble Hill main house and at rear wing only. f. Section Fiberglass Asphalt Shingles 1. B. Materials, 3. Shingles: Delete the following: Prestique Lifetime and Replace with: Ultra Delete the following: In English size with 5 inch exposure and Replace with: in manufacturer s standard size with 5 5/8 exposure. Delete the following: Metric size not accepted. 2. Installation, 1. Underlayment: Install felt underlayment over one layer of ice and water shield, typical. g. Section Glass and Glazing 1. B. Products, 3. Primary Glass Products, a.: a. I., Delete the following: Install Pearl Finish Insulated glass in some storefront at Add Alternate No. 1, Conference Building, See plans for locations. b. IV., Coordinate with Section Size glass storm panels to fit size of exterior window opeinings and install with 3/8 continuous beaded wood stops with countersunk stainless steel screws. Install neoprene setting blocks at bottom of each panel to allow 1/4 Page 3

In Add Alternate No. Two, Install Pearl finish glass in two toilet room windows instead of clear glass. h. Section Aluminum Entrance and Storefront C. Installation, 1. Delete the following: and shop or field glazed with ½ tempered insulated glass. Replace with the following: and shop or field glazed with 1 tempered insulated glass in all frames, sidelites and transoms and with ½ tempered insulated glass in doors. i. Section Dual Reflective Solar Control Glazing Film Part 1 General, 1.01 Summary, A. Delete the following: Install in Base Bid at all windows in Pebble Hill. Replace with the following: Install in Add Alternate No. Two at all fixed glass storm window panels at windows, sidelites and transoms in Pebble Hill and apply to interior surface on all new fixed glass storm window panels. j. Section Miscellaneous Building Specialties 1. B. 2 Fire Extinguishers: Delete the following: Furnish and install ten Replace with the following: Furnish and install six. Base Bid includes three (3) fire extinguishers and Add Alternate No. Two includes three (3) fire extinguishers. 2. B. 6 Disappearing Stair: One required in Add Alternate No. Two 3. B. 8 Lightning Protection at all Buildings: A minimum of six (6) air terminals are included in the Base Bid and a minimum of eight (8) air terminals are included in Add Alternate No. Two. Base Bid includes full Lightning Protection System at Director s Office and Office Building and Add Alternate No. Two includes full Lightning Protection System at Pebble Hill. 4. B. 9 Bora-Care: Delete the following: (This applies to Base Bid) Page 4

7 PROJECT#: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDDER TO REGISTER AND PRE-QUALIFY Sealed proposals will be received by Mrs. Jillian H. Thrower, Manager, Design & Construction Contracts, Auburn University on behalf of Dr. G. Jay Gogue, President of Auburn University, and the Board of Trustees at 1161 West Samford Avenue, Auburn University, AL until 3:00 PM Central Time, Thursday, April 25, 2013 for: Pebble Hill-Addition & Remodel AUBURN UNIVERSITY at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read in Facilities Management Building Seven, Conference Room. A. SCOPE OF WORK: The general scope of the work includes but is not limited to: Construct new office building to include all related site work; remodel the existing historic structure to include foundation repair; provide sprinkler system and landscape for the entire site to include small concrete pad and drive at the south end of the property. B. PRIME CONTRACTOR BIDDER REQUIREMENTS: (All applicants must be licensed under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975.) Prime Contractor Bidders interested in submitting a proposal MUST follow ALL of these steps: 1. Register with Auburn University, Facilities Management, Design & Construction Services, Project Support This means you must fill out the current Auburn University Registered Contractor Application (form may be obtained from the Owner-see information below) and return to the Owner for review. The Owner will send written notification to all contractors of their acceptance or rejection as a Registered Contractor for Auburn University. 2. After written notification of acceptance onto the Auburn University Registered Contractor List, contractors MUST submit a letter of intent to the Owner (see information below) for EACH project that a contractor wishes to submit a proposal. 3. The Owner will send the contractor the written pre-qualification criteria for a specific project. That criteria will need to be completed and returned to the Owner (see address below) for review. After review of the pre-qualification criteria, the Owner will send written notification to all contractors of their acceptance or rejection for pre-qualification. Please note the pre-qualification criterion is intended to identify responsible and competent prime contractor bidders relative to the requirements of the Project. 4. After written notification of acceptance of pre-qualification, the Architect will release plans/specifications. Applicants are encouraged to begin this process as early as possible. The Owner reserves the right to waive technical errors in applications or abandon the registration/prequalification process, should the interests of the Owner appear to be promoted thereby. BIDS BY PRE-QUALIFIED PRIME CONTRACTOR BIDDERS Documents: After written notice to pre-qualified prime contractor bidders is given, pre-qualified prime contractor bidders may obtain plans/specifications from the Architect (see address above) upon deposit of $ per set. Plans/specifications will be shipped to those who pre-qualify after they are notified of pre-qualification, and after deposit is received. The deposit is refundable in full on the first two (2) sets issued to each prime contractor bidder upon return of documents in reusable condition within ten (10) days after bid opening. Additional sets for pre-qualified prime contractor bidders, subcontractors, vendors, or dealers may be obtained upon payment of the same deposit. The deposit for additional sets shall be refunded less the cost of printing, reproduction, handling, and distribution, upon return of the documents in reusable condition within ten (10) days after bid opening. Bid documents will be available at the following locations after notice to pre-qualified bidders is given. Drawings and specifications may be examined at the Office of the Owner: Facilities Design and Construction Services, Facilities Management, Auburn University, AL. Bonds: A certified check or bid bond payable to Auburn University in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00, must accompany the bidder s proposal. Performance and Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required at the signing of the Contract. Bids: Bids must be submitted on proposal forms or copies thereof furnished by the Architect. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject bids if such action is determined to be in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to revoke the pre-qualification of any bidder in accordance with Section , Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended in 1997 (by Act ). Sales Tax: This project is exempt from Sales Tax. Contractor s bids are not to include Sales Tax on materials (tangible personal property) to be incorporated into realty. D. PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A Pre-bid Conference will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 1:00 PM CST in the Facilities Management Building Seven Conference Room, 1161 West Samford Avenue, Auburn University,
