2 Highlights on the VC999 Exhibition Booth A) VC999 Tray Sealers TS -Series (pictures 1 and 1a) The full VC999 product range of tray sealers comprises easy-to-use small machines such as the TS10 and TS300 (shown at Seafood Processing Europe). The TS300 is excellent for packaging fresh fish for catering service or other fields in gastronomy, and for middle-sized industries. The fully automated in-line machines of VC999 automatically seal pre-made trays, with or without exchange of atmosphere (MAP using vacuum/gas) or using Skin Pack. These automated machines (from TS1200 up to TS2500) are made for medium to large industries. The compact tray sealer VC999 TS1300 which is shown at this Exhibition, too, is ideal for medium to large scale production. The trays are placed on the conveyor manually or using an automatic denester and leave the machine after the sealing cycle again on a conveyor. An ideal machine for a good presentation of fresh fish and seafood products. What is PLA? Bioplastics/PLA is plastic packaging material which is made of renewable raw material such as corn, potatoes, sugar cane, beets. PLA is biodegradable, and under certain conditions (heat) even compostable. It can also be burnt with rubbish, at low-emission combustion. As a matter of fact the burning process results in less CO 2 output than the plants of which the PLA product had been made had originally needed to grow reduction of greenhouse CO 2 emissions! 4 B) VC999 Rollstock Thermoformers RS -Series (pictures 2 and 2a) Rollstock machines of the type VC999 RS are generally in use wherever large quantities of the same product are to be processed. Such thermoforming packaging lines are unequaled in output. The packages are fabricated online from a lower web of rigid or soft (flexible) thermoformable film and a cover film sealed on. VC999 Rollstock Machines have a modular design for customized adaptations. This high performance compact machine can also be integrated in an inline environment including e.g. dosing, weighing, printing, labeling, etc. The Rollstock Thermoformers of the VC999 RS series (shown at the Exhibition) are ideal for portion adequate industrial packaging of fresh seafood, fish, fresh food in general, convenience products but also in the non-food sector. 6 C) VC999 Vacuum Chamber Machines K -Series (pictures 3 and 3a) The Vacuum Chamber Machines are still a core business of Inauen Maschinen AG. The demand for the super-fast VC999 K12 twin-chamber model (shown at the European Seafood Exposition) and the fullyautomated VC999 K8 with belt and long seal bars, for large quantities and/or large individual packs, is great. The models VC999 K2, K3 (shown at the Show) and K4 are table machines and ideal for shop counters (e.g. seafood stores), and small restaurant kitchens. All VC999 Chamber Machines are very practical for packaging fish under full vacuum, such as tuna steak or salmon fillets. Also sauces can be packed and stored easily this way. The variety of different models of VC999 Vacuum Chamber Machines is very large and covers all needs of the user.
