In the first nine months of 2006, ninety two new FIDCs were listed at BOVESPA. Currently, there are US$ 6 billion on FIDC available for trade at BOVESPA. Additionally, in the same period, 27 CRIs (Real Estate Receivable Certificates), 15 Debentures (Corporate Bonds) have started to be traded on BOVESPA FIX and SOMA FIX. The trading value of BOVESPA s Fixed Income markets, for September 2006, was USD 106 million, as shown in the table bellow.

6 INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS Securities Lending service provided by Brazilian Clearing and Depository Corporation - CBLC The Securities Lending Program - BTC is a service through which investors may make securities available for loan and interested parties may borrow them based on the presentation of guarantees. The CBLC acts as counterparty in the process and guarantees the operations. The service is accessed by an electronic system and the borrower pays a fee to the lender, along with emoluments for the CBLC. The fee is freely negotiable between the parties. All of the dividends declared by the issuer belong to the original owner. The BTC is designed for holders of investment portfolios in general may donate securities, including pension and investment funds. Also investors, natural persons and legal entities, including financial institutions, may borrow securities through this system. Participation of Investors in Securities Lending and BTC Turn Over: 6

7 LAUNCHING BOVESPA S FLOOR FOR VISITORS After closing of the trading floor and becoming a fully electronic exchange, BOVESPA had its floor rebuilt it into a visitor center with several attractions, including: museum about the history of Brazilian Capital Market, 3-D movie explaining BOVESPA s activities and products actors simulating the day-by-day of a trading desk, computers with quotations, meeting rooms for brokers to host visitors. Since its launch on September 26, this BOVESPA s visitor center has been receiving around 500 visitors per day, including Saturdays and Sundays. BOVESPA LAUNCHED THE WEBPAGE EM BOA COMPANHIA - IN GOOD COMPANY BOVESPA launched the webpage Em Boa Companhia In Good Company, a channel where public will be able to follow the main Social Responsibility Projects conducted by listed companies. This is another initiative to give exposure to listed companies committed to corporate and social responsibility initiatives. 8 BOVESPA Popularization Campaign Since September/2002, the popularization campaign BOVESPA VAI ATÉ VOCÊ (BOVESPA goes to you) has stimulated the creation of 1,259 investment clubs. The campaign resulted in 18 new investment clubs in September this year, thus raising the number of new registrations in 2006 to 315. BOVESPA had listed a total of 1,563 clubs as of September 30. According to last data available (August), investment clubs totaled BRL 8 billion in net asset and 127,000 investors. BOVESPA SIGNS MOUs WITH TORONTO STOCK EXCHANGE AND WITH BORSA ITALIANA BOVESPA signed Memorandun of Understanding MOUs with Toronto Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana. The objective of those MOUs is to foster joint initiatives and facilitate the flow of information on listed companies. 8
